Just stayed overnight with my mother and sister. We had a great experience. I had the Garden Room which was very spacious and comfortable. The building is a delight and the details of its age have been preserved beautifully. Breakfast was all you could ask for. We took our time over a full English and the Hostess was charming. Will... My sister and I took our Mother for a girls night away, it was lovely, so relaxing. My Mother and I had a four poster bed on the ground floor. My sister had fantastic room upstairs overlooking the lovely garden. Lovely old lounge with log fire, breakfast was amazing. The owner was lovely. It is very close to the town... More

Lovely old hotel. Disappointed to be told on check in that breakfast wasn't until 9am, we had to leave by 8am, they did put a box outside our door with fruit and cereal in but not the same. Our room was at the front, and we actually left 11pm as it is right on a busy road and just couldn't... More

What a lovely place! The Old House is exactly that, an old – very old – house. This is reflected in the delightfully crooked walls, slanting floors, inglenook fireplaces and Jacobean oak panelling. Our room, the Garden Room, is a lovely, light room with comfortable beds (a single & a double), en-suite bathroom, and all the usual coffee/tea making facilities... More

I booked this hotel through expedia as my husband and i were to attend a reunion with some old workmates at the Bocking community centre.....we were shown our room (the oak room) which had slightly sloping floors and a couple of wonky walls...but hey ! this house is 500 years old and we immediately fell in love with it!...the bed... My Partner and I stayed with other family members for one night at The Old House as we were attending a wedding reception at The Rennes. We were all delighted with our rooms which had great character and were very comfy. The beds were really comfy and the bathrooms huge. We were given lots of local and interesting facts on... More

The owner made me feel quite welcome when I arrived but demanded payment right away which took me aback slightly but not to worry. I was given a room with a four poster which was clean and tidy but oh dear the smell of damp and general old house mustiness was overpowering and I had to open the window to... More

We stayed for 1 night over a weekend - a charming house with original features. We stayed in the ground floor Pine Room with fabulously comfortable four poster bed and en suite with a generously sized shower. There was a good choice of breakfast types in the dining room lounge, we both plumped for the English Breakfast which was enough... More

We stayed here for two nights in November, we thought it might be three but I'd inadvertently double booked a night and it was more convenient to stay at the other hotel. The hosts were terrific when I suggested that we'd pay half the fee is they were able to re-book. Well when it came round to paying for the... More
