We enjoyed a recent trip to this restaurant where we had a three course meal with wine. We had difficulties booking a table as the phone wasn't being answered. We left a message on the answer phone but no one called back. We eventually got through and were able to book after a few hours of trying. On arrival we...

We celebrated my husband's birthday here, we had a party of 26 and had sole use of venue. We had a lovely afternoon, everything went really smoothly thanks to the hard work of the staff. They were so helpful and friendly nothing was too much trouble. The meal was excellent, this was all pre-ordered and everyone got the right dinner,...

I booked this for my mum as she loves afternoon tea, the price we paid on groupon is about as much as you would want to pay for this, you would be very upset if you paid full face value and turned up here. The staff are very polite and the service ok, but the place is small out dated...

Well the sandwiches and cakes were nice a fresh selection of each but not the best like I've had at other afternoon teas near by. The scones were a bit hard. The lady who worked at reception and who showed us to the table however wasn't very accommodating, she seemed very rushed and miserable. There was nobody in the room...

Had a bit of an issue with some work going on at house and found ourselves homeless for one night. This hotel was recommended so we contacted them and they managed to fit us in. Lovely hotel, quite characterful, room was great with everything we needed, had a gorgeous meal in the restaurant and the staff couldn't do enough for...

I booked my wedding reception at this hotel because after speaking to them on the phone I felt I would get great service with a personal touch from them. I only booked for 9 people and was told at time of booking no one else had yet booked for that evening (29th December 2016). I must say the food was...

After having a romantic meal at the Kiln Hotel and receiving excellent service from the staff, we decide that this would be the ideal venue to hire for my mum and sister's joint birthday celebration. From the initial planning through to the event Amy was always on hand to answer any questions and give advice. Patrick was also our waiter...

This was the first time we have eaten out for Christmas dinner so was unsure what to expect. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome and there was a cosy Christmassy feel to the restaurant. Our meal was dished up on time and we were not rushed. The whole experience was very relaxing and enjoyable....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Originally built Circa 16th century, The Kilns Hotel is a classical Grade II listed Queen Anne’s building having undergone many period changes over the years. A favorite with business travelers and people visiting friends or just Brentwood. The hotel retains much of its original charm and character. However, much of its period features have been lost over time but has now evolved into an extremely comfortable, modern and contemporary style petite hotel with an air of sophistication, rarely found outside central London.During your stay, you can experience our excellent food and selection of fine wines while dining at The White Napkin Restaurant and Bar (Essex Food & Drink Awards 2010/11 finalists) which can be used by our residents, and is open to non-residents. ... more   less
