A lovely overnight stay staying in a beautifully decorated suite. Took time to sit in the relaxing outdoor areas and gardens. Very peaceful. Dinner choices were good, with well-presented and tasty home cooked style food. The afternoon tea was amazing - more than enough to feed two people and the quality of the sandwiches and especially the cakes was outstanding. Covid-19 secure measures were taken seriously, e.g. breakfast served to the room by default and the staff/building abiding by the guidance (sanitisers/masks/visors/screens). Very friendly and welcoming staff, especially the lady on the front desk and Samantha the waitress. Well done. Would definitely return in the future to take advantage of various special offer overnight stays.

Lovely surrounding area and beautiful decor in the hotel especially in the reception and bar area. Great helpful staff and good breakfast . Lovely size bedroom and comfortable bed.
Radiator was too hot in the room but a staff member switched it off completely which helped. The cleaning of the bathroom could have been better and the bath towels sometimes weren’t too clean

We had such a lovely time this weekend that I wanted to thank all the staff for making my daughter’s birthday so special. This was a last minute booking for a family room which I booked directly with the hotel. The receptionist Tiziana was so helpful giving us lots of information over the phone and when she found out it was my daughter’s birthday she organised balloons and a card from the hotel for her when we got to our room. When we arrived on the beautiful grounds we were greeted by Sam at reception who instantly reserved the pool for us and gave us all the info we needed for our stay. We went to the heated pool (it was chilly) but lovely to be able to have a swim outdoors and take in the surroundings. We had booked dinner at 7pm and were shown to our table after having some drinks in the lounge. My son has allergies (which I notified the Tiziana about when booking) Our waitress Sue had all the information and had already marked all the things on the menu he could have. The chef even came out to speak to me which was so reassuring and something that I’ve only ever had in the US not the UK.

We went back to our room before 10 because of Covid restrictions, the room was so cosy and clean that is was a pleasure to go back to. Also worth mentioning that we had a strange request for some batteries for my son’s toy and even though they didn’t have them in reception Sam managed to source some and give them to us at dinner.

Breakfast was bought to the room and included oat milk which they had sourced especially for my son. And after another swim we asked for a late checkout which wasn’t a problem at all.

In terms of value for money this hotel is excellent. We had been to Norfolk earlier in the half term and paid almost the same price for a room with no breakfast and no hospitality with mould growing in the shower and up the walls.

I would highly recommend this hotel, its a four star but I have to say in terms of service this is definitely 5 star.

We hope to return soon.

Stayed here for a wedding, would happily stay again. Regarding the wedding arrangements the hotel did everything well, being very good regarding open windows and doors during the wedding and reception. The food was good, although a few of us had the wrong meals but serving 60 people can’t be easy. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. Only complaint was every time we went to dance we returned to find our drinks had been cleared away. The breakfast was of a good quality and plentiful. The area where breakfast was served is large , partly buffet style , partly waitress.
We were here a total of three nights and the room was clean and tidy, bathroom was spacious and had the usual amenities of soaps, shower gel etc, proper bath sheets not a small towel, rooms serviced daily.
The bar area is small with sofas, but attached to a very large and airy area with many sofas, chairs and tables and never felt crowded. The outdoor area is enormous, with a swimming pool, tennis courts and a wooded area, we had intended to walk here but the weather was inclement , but we had lovely views from our bedroom of the garden.

This was our 2nd time staying at De Rougemont Manor and this time booked a special Christmas package including evening meal and breakfast. For a small fee we also upgraded to a Suite. The bedroom was one of the nicest we've stayed in and even had a balcony which would be perfect in the summer. The bed was really comfortable and the room very spacious. My sister stayed in a double room and was also very happy with her stay. Breakfast was lovely and the evening food was really nice. The hotel is kept spotless and the grounds are well looked after. We would definitely love to stay again.

I visited De Rougemont Manor in Brentwood as a part of faculty for Advance Trauma Life Support(ATLS) course. The member of the stuff were generally helpful - a special round of applause for Charlotte for being super nice and extremely helpful.

The rooms were of descent sizes - however, a few of our groups had issues with amenities in the room like hairdryers and similar stuff(which were later rectified). The conference venue was large enough for our purpose. Food served for dinner was very good. However, there was significant waiting time for breakfast which was not particularly helpful while trying to get ready to teach during a very long and strenuous course.

Overall, a pleasant stay, and a successful course.

Dear KD_UK19, Thank you for your recent review. I am glad to hear you have enjoyed your recent stay with us. It was a pleasure to host the Advance Trauma Life Support Course in our banqueting suite and I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the evening meal with us. I have passed on your comments regarding the room amenities to housekeeping to check, although I was pleased that these issues were resolved by the team. I am sorry to hear that you found breakfast slow so I will investigate this with the restaurant team. The staff were very professional in explaining everything we needed to know about the charges and checkout, we stayed in a suite and we’re offered complimentary drinks as we booked from their website directly.

I understand the hotel has an old fashioned aesthetic however all the furniture in the room just looks like it has never been changed, to the point where it’s now old and slightly damaged in places.
I would never question the cleanliness of a hotel however as we used the “jacuzzi” we noticed little black particles and tiny small hairs, I wasn’t sure if this was just because of the jets not being used for a while or because of their “environmental protection policy” about towels. We thought this could be easily missed and If you’re thinking of staying here please look out for it (please bare in mind these are just assumptions and have no real credibility).

Although In saying this the linen was fresh and the toilet/ sink area was spotless. We had a lovely tea and biscuit area and some glasses in the room for water, the hotel also provided a customer feedback sheet upon checkout. All in all it’s a lovely hotel however didn’t have the wow factor we were expecting from the advertising on their website.

I stayed here for my anniversary last weekend. Paid for bed and breakfast at £119
Arrived at hotel plenty of parking and the surroundings look lovely
Reception staff were helpful friendly and very informative. We booked into the restaurant for the night.
Late check out was not a problem and £15 was needed and we could stay till 1pm
Dropped our bags in our room. Rooms were how they looked on the website but first thing I noticed was there was no air conditioning and the room was already really stuffy
Went and got a drink and went and sat by the pool area. Weather was lovely and it did feel like I was aboard Although the actually pool itself did look a bit dirty I wouldn’t have fancied swimming in it. Drinks were same sort of price as a pub and the bar lady was very friendly.
Restaurant was empty when we went for dinner but the surroundings looked lovely
Waitress staff again was so friendly.
The menu was very poor not much choice and my god the food for the price when it came was laughable. Menu said “thick cut chips “ they looked frozen to me like they was from a packet and my steak that I’d asked to be medium/rare was cremated to within an inch of its life .
Husbands chicken pasta was really dry and all served up on really little plates.
We was really disappointed if it had been cheap grub I would have expected it but I’ve ate in lots of hotel restaurants and the food is normally tip top this was below what I’d get in a cafe
Husband had the almond tart which looked like it had come out of a packet -it was all just really poor and for £25 for a steak I was hoping for a lot better.
Mattress on the bed was really poor and I had a really bad night sleep as the room was so stuffy it must be murder in the summer Months.
Breakfast was good I thought for the money, someone commented on here that the food is out in the open but every hotel restaurant I’ve been too have their fruit and pastries out how you can help yourself ? The cooked breakfast you order off the menu and it’s was lovely and the Scottish lady who served us was really friendly.

The hotel could be so much better with just a few tweaks, new beds and air conditioning being the first and then a better chef or menu in the restaurant, the staff really made it for me they was attentive without being over the top.

When I went to ask about a wedding brochure for my friend I was told that they wasn’t taking any more bookings for weddings after December of this year as the hotel might be being bought and turned into apartments which is such a shame as it has such potential but it made sense why a lot of little things wasn’t great
All in all was an ok stay-would I stay again ? Probably not we both said you get a better sleep at a premier inn but then your not in the beautiful surround in a premier inn

On arrival at the hotel we were greeted by a very friendly receptionist. Check in was very easy and smooth and we were very grateful that we were allowed in our rooms 2 hours before check in time of 3pm.
The rooms were well decorated and immaculately clean.
We had a few drinks in the bar and lunch which arrived quickly and hot.
The beds were very comfy and the temperature in the room was good.
Breakfast however was a different matter. The 4 of us had the hot breakfast which was far from hot. I couldn't cut through my 1 rasher of bacon and I had to go back to the servery 2 extra times to try and get a warmish fried egg.
Hotel fantastic, staff very friendly and good service but the only thing stopping me giving the hotel 5 out of 5 was the breakfast. So disappointing and we walked away hungry.

Only stayed for one night but was a excellent experience. Room was lovely very modern with a warm homely feel to it. Bed very comfy, large tv couldn’t ask for more for a hotel room. Had a few drinks from the bar which we were able to take back to the room, very reasonable prices ( standard pub prices). Ordered room service, food came within 10 minutes couldn’t had asked for more. Breakfast was good with a good choice for the continental option, full english was okay but a small portion for the price. Quality was good and was lovely and hot. Only criticism was the toaster. One of those industrial type machines that always burns one side of the toast, I think a couple of standard home toasters would suit better. But overall great, very friendly staff. Would recommend
