Excellent food, with great staff, very helpful. We went for Sunday lunch and the food was excellent. Staff were very good, especially as it was very busy. Have been before for a family event in the function room which was equally as good.

If you want consistently good food and service this is a safe bet. Yes you have to order your own food at the counter, but this generally speeds up the ordering process. From there on normal service resumes. Don't forget to check out the specials board. Arrive just before peek times to get a place in the large car park...

We have been to The Lion on many occasions, in the main restaurant, the small function room and to a beautiful wedding in the new function venue, also a couple of New Years Eve celebrations which have never failed to impress. Tonight was no exception, food, staff and ambience exceptional, if there is a small criticism it's quite noisy but...

We stayed here the night before and night of our wedding and couldn't have been more impressed. The staff were so attentive and really looked after us and we were made to feel really special during our stay. Nothing was too much trouble and the food in the restaurant was delicious. The rooms were lovely and we had our own...

If I ever had to choose my last meal on earth it would be belly pork from The Lion at Boreham. Quite apart from the fabulous food (I've eaten here lots and never had a bad meal) the service is friendly, efficient, professional and speedy. I love it here. Called in on the way home and had the perfect end...

Went here for my Dad's birthday, 10 of us including 3 kids aged 5-9. Decor is classy and the staff mad us feel welcome and were attentive, despite it being a very busy lunch service, No complaints about the food, my steak was very good and cooked perfectly. The desserts were very well received too. No hesitation in recommending

Stayed 2 nights for a wedding reception held down the road at Boreham house. The room was tastefully decorated, clean and had a small balcony that we can enjoy a nice summer afternoon on. The food was absolutely delicious, husband said the steak and kidney pie was the best he has ever had. Parking was ample and countryside was beautiful....

Having eaten well previously, we thought we'd try the lion for a roast. Priced at around £15, I thought the roast beef should be excellent but in fact was very average and not worth the money. It just wasn't very tasty and for 4 people the shared veg wasn't enough with the brocolli being too tough to eat. The meat...

My wife and I had a family meal here on the evening of our wedding 3 years ago and we spent our wedding night there. So we try to go back every year as a little treat for our anniversary. We were welcomed by a friendly member of staff who showed us to our room. The room had a queen...
