This pub is yet another one to close down. It is currently boarded up so no point in visiting it. When it was open it struggled for custom and looked unloved and uninviting from the outside. Whether it will ever reopened remains to be seen

As fairly recent arrivals to the area we felt we should try out all the local pubs. The White Hart had posters up for bands and we thought it might be an undiscovered gem, despite the fact that there are rarely more than a handful of punters in there. Well, the best I can say is thank god for the...

I am going to struggle to put into words just how terrible this place is, but here goes. We was made to feel about as welcome as a French kiss from your grandma at a family reunion and the staff only work there because the Mafia has thrown them out for cruelty. As it calls its self a Bed and...

It is so disappointing to see a lovely town pub, restaurant and hotel go down hill so fast. The owner Tom Newman is the worst landlord since Norman Bates retired and is a poor imitation of Basil Faulty and i would advise people to go anywhere else, maybe the Crown or Red Lion as they are still very good establishments.

The rooms were clean & comfy - as mentioned by previous poster the windows don't block out the road noise & I found it quite noisy, however my travel companion slept right through so I think I'm just not used to any noise. Noise travels between the rooms as...

This was my second visit to The White Hart Inn (the last being a couple of years ago when it was under previous management) and it remains an excellent B&B/pub, and a good-value alternative to the budget hotel chains. It’s located right on the High Street in Manningtree, Essex (England’s smallest town), a short drive from nearby Colchester. I used...
