Needed room entry without steps. Excellent room with patio doors into garden, table and chairs inside a fenced area with gate to garden. Staff were all professional and friendly. It seemed obvious that the team is a happy team with staff doing what was needed with minimal fuss. Meals were all good, with Hot plates, excellent. Good choices throughout the day. Good choice of drinks with a couple of real ales. Thanks to Reece for his help.

Great looking hotel from the outside. Nice bar area and beer garden. Rooms are a little tired and could do with a lick of paint. The headboard was worn through. Some of the staff were lovely especially the younger bar girls and particularly Heather who was polite and helpful. The others were a bit abrupt and miserable. The male manager was cheerful and helpful too. Birdlip is a little remote but great for walking. Would have been great if they had a little taxi service as nothing available locally.

Stayed here many times and love it. Usual lovely welcome from receptionist Elaine. Told her we hoped to watch the football and she booked us in, explaining that tables were allocated on a first come, first served basis. On the evening of the England game, we went early to the bar and were shown to probably the furthest table from the two TVs. I asked if we could have one of the empty tables with a view of the match and was told they were booked. We had booked and were there, as was another couple disappointed with their table, but were not allowed to move. Realise they can't please everyone, but it should be fair. Apart from that, the usual pleasant stay and great staff apart from "Miss Grumpy" in the bar.

Great to hear you enjoyed your stay with us , I’m sorry you wasn’t happy with your table but unfortunately the tables you refer to were booked before and as you only requested a table to watch the football on your arrival , these were the only tables free. I will pass your lovely comments on to Elaine and thank you for your feedback. We hope you will visit again.
