Having spent a couple of days here after our wedding my husband had tried to book for our subsequent anniversaries without success. When an offer came up for January happily he was on the ball & booked up successfully. So after a hectic belated Xmas long weekend with grandchildren in London we headed to Clearwell We were in the chalet/room...

We were lucky enough to stay here for the weekend and could not have had a warmer welcome, better service or more delicious food. It is a very comfortable country hotel. Sophisticated but not supercilious but coupled with the most wonderful countryside on the doorstep. The enjoyment of said countryside is hugely encouraged by a plethora of superbly described and...

Dear Polly_B_11 Thank you for this wonderful review. We are so pleased you enjoyed our walks - 8 which start from the hotel and are circular. They are great if you don't want to get in the car - although there is so much to do in the area we would also recommend exploring beyond Clearwell! The beds in our...

My partner and I stayed for 1 night in 'the loft' with dinner, bed and breakfast included. It was our second stay, and it was as perfect as our first. Firstly, before you arrive, someone phones to check if you have any dietary requirements and to see whether duck feather bedding is suitable. I thought this was such a simple...

Dear Kim0891 Thank you for this lovely review. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your second visit with us in the Loft as much as your first. The Loft is our most popular room for the reasons you mentioned. We are delighted that you also enjoyed the food and the friendliness of our team. They really do work incredibly...

We stayed at the Tudor Farmhouse for two nights during January. We stayed in one of the hotel's suites, 'The Nest'. The room was lovely, the bathroom in particular was very impressive with a roll top bath and a lovely, large shower. The toiletries are great, very luxurious with natural ingredients used. We had a lovely sitting area in the...

Couldn't really fault anything! Room was spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. We were in one of the outbuildings but no distance from the main hotel building. Very quiet. Beautiful bathroom with underfloor heating and excellent shower. The housekeeping staff are very friendly and always ready to oblige. Staff were very accommodating and cheery. Always a friendly welcoming smile and concerned...

Lovely old stone-built farmhouse and outer buildings beautifully converted into a modern hotel but retaining its original features. Situated in the village of Clearwell in the heart of stunning Gloucestershire countryside. Lovely warm cosy room with large comfortable bed in one of the outer buildings. Superb food and very attentive staff. Highly recommended at any time of the year.

I visited with my grown up children before we went on 4x4 day. We had three rooms and all were superb. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Great evening meal and lovely breakfast. Nice and warm with welcoming log burners. Reasonably priced. Thoroughly recommend a visit.

Lovely hotel. Great staff. Amazing food. This was a lovely place to spend New Year. The staff didn't seem to find anything a trouble - and all were eager to please and very friendly and attentive. This was referred to as the Cotswolds version of the Pig. Having been to the Pig and being a big fan, we had high hopes. Perhaps our expectations were too high. Perhaps we visited during the wrong time of year. Perhaps we were unlucky. With all that said, this lacked all of the charisma, personality and charm that makes the...
