Just on the Cotswold Way, a welcoming place to stay. Beds are super comfortable, bath is clean and inviting with plenty of hot water, our hosts are cheerful and kind. Welcomed us with tea and cake. The room is very quiet and private. The village is small with a lovely atmosphere. We highly recommend the Little Smithy.

Stayed here on our way to Bath on the Cotswold Way. Clean, thoughtfully presented and traditional room with furnishings that fitted the historic building - yet all functional. The landlady was very welcoming and friendly and cooked breakfast to our requirements. A lovely place to stay

We stayed at The Little Smithy when attending Badminton Horse Trials this year and couldn't have been happier. Everything went just so smoothly from the booking through our stay to our departure. Joanna and Richard were the best of hosts and made our stay there memorable.

This was our favourite stop along the Cotswold Way. Just a step off the path and into the cosiest and quaintest little annex. There is a twin and a double room. Own bathrooms - bath with hand held shower, loads of hot water - and a shared lounge and kitchen. We were the only residents so had the place to ourselves. I just loved everything about the Little Smithy. Joanna made us very welcome with tea and brownies and a big smile. She has furnished the place with such charm. The breakfast was delicious and served in her beautiful dining room with buttercups and cow parsley in the prettiest vase. Everything is so homely and comfortable. I just didn't want to leave to face the remaining 17 miles to Bath ! If you want modern and clinically clean and precise then this isn't the place for you. If you want tasteful and traditional English cosiness then you will love it !

This place is conveniently located for Cotswold Way walkers, directly on the trail and just a few steps from the local pub. As others have already written, the hosts are quite charming and make you feel welcome. The two-story cottage is cute too. But we had a couple big problems. The mattress was saggy, partly because the mattress was soft, but also because its platform was a springy and saggy contraption. To get any sleep, we had to remove the mattress from the platform and put it directly on the floor. That’s when we noticed the graveyard of dead bugs underneath the bed – a good indication that the carpets had not been thoroughly vacuumed for quite some time. Furthermore, the windows were basically painted shut. We thankfully managed to open one in the middle of the night to help us breathe better. For some reason, our allergies bothered us tremendously here – maybe because of the carpets or the old furniture. Hard to say. Anyway, I feel rather bad writing this because the hosts were charming, breakfast was wholesome, the cottage was cute, and the location was convenient. But our sleeping experience was quite poor.
