We've tried and tried with The Three Cups as we are local but it's just terrible. Went for Sunday lunch. Waited more than 30mns for our food. Service was appalling. Venison was overcooked. Beef was as tough as leather soles. Yorkshire puddings not home made. Nearly broke a tooth on the roast potatoes. Just don't go. Please.

We stayed for four nights and the rooms were very comfortable, very clean and the staff were very nice and helpful. Not enough seating in the bar area for guests, as locals fill the bar every evening except Sunday. After having excellent service and great food for three evenings, there was a major blip on the last evening. The head... More

We love the Three Cups. It is reliably simple, friendly and local, with great spaces, lots of atmosphere, and a sweet little stream running through the garden to boot. Never forgetting it's also extremely good value. Oh, and it's a hotel too.

We are regular visitors to Stockbridge and usually have lunch at the Greyhound but thought we would try here for a change. Big mistake. The surroundings are pleasant and the two staff friendly, that's were the positives ended. We ordered grilled figs with Parma ham which on arrival was a very strange colour and taste. We waited 15 minutes for... More

We originally went to sit outside with having a dog then learnt that dogs were welcome which was a huge bonus for us! We all ordered sandwiches which were very filling. A little disappointed when we were told there was only 1 type of bread left but this didnt effect us in anyway. It was also nice to see the... More

Had a birthday lunch here, beautiful pub, great cask ale, friendly welcome. Unfortunately the food left a lot to be desired, beef was raw, Yorkshire pudding, very flat, roast potatoes hard and looked as if they were cooked hours ago, veg very uninspired . Had to ask for sauces to accompany meal, but had virtual finished before they arrived. Nearly... More

We stopped off enroute to Salisbury from Newbury. The place looked very pretty from the outside. The Inn is beautiful, dating back to the 15th century, we decided as still a warm September afternoon to eat in the beautiful gardens by the stream. The service was first class. The food amazing, I had the fish platter, Juliet the Stuffed figs,... More

My wife remembered this pub from five years back, and I'm so glad she did. The fish platter was truly memorable, and I could not fault the service or the price. Hope to go there next in the summer and enjoy the garden.

Delightful quaint inn well positioned on main road through middle of village. Room was well furnished and comfortable. Staff friendly and very helpful. Full English breakfast cooked to perfection and very filling. Very low beams in dining area and much of the ground floor, so if you are over 5ft. 4ins. be prepared to duck, but this adds to its...
