A group of friends had the festive meal at the Grosvenor the Saturday before Christmas. Everyone thought the food was excellent and the band which was included was also very good. Four of us had separate rooms and all considered they were all very clean and comfortable. This was followed by a very good breakfast which was included in the...

A friend of mine and I took our dogs for a walk on the common with the plan to have breakfast in the grosvenor afterwards, something he had done before. We arrive just before 09.30 and asked if we were too early/too late for breakfast (in the bar area, the restaurant we knew was not dog friendly). There were two...

We booked a table for 8 a couple of weeks in advance. We had noted that they do a 2 or 3 course festive menu. We asked for the festive menus and were told that they had "run out". Very strange a week before Christmas. We were given the standard menu and opted for the Sunday roast. One of us...

This is a budget hotel and an old one at that. It is tired and a little rough around the edges lacking careful TLC on the maintenance front in many areas with the main stair carpet to the upper floors threadbare. My room key kept sticking in the lock and would not come out and my TV had no controls,...

We stayed here on a three night break some time ago so on our way back from a wonderful day at Mottisfont as we came through Stockbridge we were looking for somewhere to eat and decided to try the Grosvenor, what a good reception and good varied all day menu. Four of us all different meals all very good as...

My fish and chips were OK but not memorable, my husbands mixed battered fish and seafood was almost completely overlooked. Battered plaice was fine but the rest of the mixed seafood dark brown where it was overlooked and dry. My husband mentioned it to waitress who said she would tell the chef. When settling the bill the other waitress asked...

Like other reviewers we found the Grosvenor was in need of a refurb, but for the price, we were not expecting the Ritz. The room (at the front) was clean and spacious and the bathroom was the same. The bed was large and comfortable. The Grosvenor's two biggest assets are the atmosphere and the staff. The Hotel feels just like...

Booked at the last minute and did not check on Trip Advisor ! When we were on our way did look and my heart sank having previously stayed at one of thier establishment which was dire. The building is in a marvellous position right in the centre of this olde world high street; part of it must date back to...

Ok, so the hotel is tired and needs a complete refurb but for one night, on my own, it was comfortable, clean and I got a good night's sleep. The staff are friendly, the bar is cosy and barman chatty, the breakfast was good and the room was quiet. I probably wouldn't take anyone there I was trying to impress...
