Stayed with friends in April this year the location is lovely with nice walks and wildlife. A large beer garden with plenty of seats, the food is great and good beer selection although there was no Guinness but the red wine was very good which made up for that. The rooms are a good size with nice bathrooms and tea/coffee/biscuits....

I would highly recommend this place. You feel a million miles away from civilisation! Fantastic, hearty food in front of a open fire with nothing but wild horses, deer and owls for company. Very friendly and helpful staff. Simply stunning.

I've always loved the New Forest and over 35 years ago I had a drink at this pub and thought then it would be a great place to stay. Last weekend I ticked that off my bucket list. The path from the forest B road is a dust track winding down through a mass of yellow gorse which was spectacular...

What an amazing location and what a find on a busy sunny afternoon in the New Forest! We were delighted to arrive at this welcoming attractive pub with lovely gardens to sit in with the dog, plenty of room even though they were busy. Good selection of food for reasonable prices. The service was excellent, we didn't have to wait...

Arrived about 4.15pm after our beautiful walk. Beware carvery was closed, unless you wanted left overs that were sat there. We ordered scampi and chips which was OK but no more than OK and at £11.95 was over priced. We were quite pleased at winning a t-shirt in the Wadsworth scratch card promotion but when we tried to claim it...

We were staying within the vicinity of this pub and found it extremely welcoming. They made a fuss over our dog each time we visited and fed him dog treats which they keep in a bowl on the bar. We ate their on several occasions and found the food to be enjoyable. The garden is set in beautiful surroundings with...

My partner and I stayed here with our dog and we couldn't have had a better time! The staff were all so friendly and welcoming! They had a great selection of drinks and the food was one of the best meals we've ever had! The views were breathtaking and we walked for miles and miles visiting the ponies, would were...

I'm almost hesitant to post this review, because I'm not sure I want to share this secluded inn too widely! In a wooded valley half a mile down an un-made road, it's location is its ace card. It is like a place that time forgot - an impression re-enforced by the timbered bar and welcoming open fire. Add to that...

Mothers Day dinner and dog walk. Set in the middle of the New Forest, down a gravel track - which has recently been smoothed out somewhat, so not so bumpy. Six of us dining and not one single complaint, food really nice, service great, good atmosphere and reasonably priced. Dog friendly too. It's a bit out of the way but...
