Two nights spent here with friends to explore the area. Accommodation was comfortable and spotless, with home-made goodies in a tin on the well-supplied tea/coffee tray in the room. Breakfast was freshly-cooked from good-quality local produce and sustained us all day. Warm welcome and good advice on local eating places. I would definitely recommend.

Just had 3 nights at The Bowens. The accommodation in one of the outside chalets was excellent - spotlessly clean, spacious and well appointed. This was matched by fantastic breakfasts - we hardly needed lunch! Lots of thoughtful touches - a torch, because the village is a Dark Sky area (no streetlights), slippers provided for the ceramic tiled floor in...

Excellent, clean rooms, very thoughtful in terms of provision of a torch and umbrella for the very short walk into the village. It looks like the rooms have been recently refurbished, very comfortable bed and a good quality breakfast

We stayed at 'The Bowens' for eight nights while we did a mini tour of Herefordshire. The B&B was spotless clean and nothing was too much trouble for the hosts Kevin & Claire. Breakfast was wonderful and set you up for the day. We had one of the Chalet type rooms away from the main house but was very comfortable...

I had a superb experience at The Bowens. Booked at the last minute after a change of plans and I was lucky they had a room free, the last one. I was going fishing on the nearby River Wye, which is stunning and great for walking along or boating down as well. Right from the start they were friendly and...

Took my mother and her friend (both octogenarians) to enjoy some leisure time. The welcome, service, cleanliness and ambience from Kevin and Clare was outstanding - nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was superb with locally sourced produce, even the eggs are from their own chickens. Two very polite children and a gorgeous Labrador called Bella, all had endless energy....

Two fishermen back again to stay on three occasions in July/August at this excellent venue - very convenient to the Wye. Comfy beds, all the facilities you could want and a great breakfast (enough to last us all day on the riverbank) with owners, and their son, who are very welcoming and helpful. We all think that it would be...

Dear Maurice, we were a bit worried when we read the review title, but very pleased when we read the rest of it! So glad you enjoyed your stays with us and look forward to your return. Just sorry we couldn't influence the fishing! And, don't worry, there is no chance of us ever going on TV!

Claire and Kevin looked after us very well at their lovely home in Fownhope. This included collecting us from the river Wye as we had arrived by canoe, and taking us back to the river the following day. The house is full of charm and character, and quiet. The room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was top quality. Our...

The owners were extremely friendly and helpful, served a lovely breakfast, the accommodation was very good. Highly recommended, a great base to tour Herefordshire and the Cotswolds. The location, Fownhope, is a quaint little village with 3 options for meals within easy walking distance and Fownhope is only 10-15min from Hereford by car.

Good B&B located on the main road through Fownhope. The accomodation we used consists of small "chalets" behind the main building. These are completely furnished with bedroom and toilet. Breakfast is in the main building and is very good. The owners are very friendly and helpful. For diner, I advise the Green Man just down the road. There is a...
