What a disappointment! Myself and My boyfriend stayed here for our anniversary. The room we were given was tiny and the fridge didn't work. When I called to book afternoon tea in the morning, the gentleman on reception laughed and told me I needed to book 24 hours in advance, this is not mentioned on the website, booking confirmation or...

I was here for a friends wedding and what a great setting. The location is excellent, set in the countryside and the hotel decor is also very nice. I also stayed in a double room which had ample space and was very clean throughout, perfect for a short weekend break.

We were lucky enough to win a 2 night stay here with breakfast and dinner on one night included - wow would we have paid! First, they were very accommodating as we have a 4 month old, many a nice travel cot was provided which she slept wonderfully in. The room was a good size and I enjoyed a nice relaxing...

This was a lovely place to stay, we went for a wedding. It was cheaper to book on a hotel website rather than through the wedding. I only found this out when they had said all rooms had gone. It was comfortable and we had 3 rooms all different, one large and the other 2 smaller but for one night...

We stayed at the hotel on Sunday for my birthday. Rooms were okay but very small. The spa costs £20 for 2 hours so we didn't visit the spa. The breakfast was very poor. Buffet style and everything was very cold. Cheap plastic bread, no rolls. Staff very indifferent. Nobody smiled at all and everything was too much trouble. Bar...

I've been staying here for 10 years now on business. The recently revamped rooms are really lovely and the surroundings are plush.... Great value for money . My only negative is That the food has always been a bit hit or miss. Sometimes very nice... On occasions awful. Recently it's been good though so perhaps there's a new chef!

Would recommend this hotel/hall to anyone looking to stay anywhere in Essex for every type of stay. (Business, Couples, Family's and Weddings!) Staff are absolutely amazing (especially Elizabeth who we met in the Cocktail Bar) All reception and main staff are really attentive. Room was exceptional and to a really high standard. No dust or dirt. An all round excellent...

What a beautiful hotel with lovely surroundings. Very impressive. Had a lovely afternoon tea :) Social areas very cold in the evening sadly. Bar menu and drinks very expensive. £5 for bowl of chips?! £2.50 for very small cola. Breakfast lovely!! Good to see black pudding. Nice fruit too. It's a 4* star hotel so just expected a bit more...

I stayed at this gorgeous hotel for one night while working away from home. The house is quite majestic and is set quite a way along a winding tree-lined driveway. The frontage is absolutely beautiful with a stone centerpiece in the middle of a gravel drive. The car park is large with enough spaces for everyone to the park free...

The beauty of this hotel stops at the door sadly. This hotel is certainly not worthy of 5 stars. It is shabby and small the dining room is tiny for the 100 bedroom hotel and the bar is not even a bar more like a pokey corner you would find in a small London theatre. The rooms are cold and...
