Booked this for a night away after our 40th wedding anniversary celebrations. We have never stayed here before but knew the hotel from some time away. However the hotel is very dated and apart from a good breakfast, there is nothing else good about this hotel

Nice place shame about the room, we had bulbs missing, curtains hanging of the hooks and a few cob webs with a dead fly in it, on the whole for a one night stop the hotel was pleasant enough, the staff we're helpful, and nice.

Hotel in semi-rural location just off the A41 at Bourne End. Easy parking and check-in. The Staff are pleasant, well presented and helpful - although not all were fluent in spoken English. This is my second stay this year, once in the executive room and recently the standard double. Rooms were both clean & pleasant and the bed comfy. The...

Hotel is in a lovely setting - by a river funnily enough hence the name ! It was lovely looking out my ground floor room window seeing the river and ducks. Reception staff were very friendly but at night the barman didn't actually seem to understand English and myself and others using the bar struggled. The room was clean and...

We stayed here to break our journey and found it located very conveniently close to the main road. The room had a sort of air-lock double door so was well insulated from the noise of the road. The view from the window was of the mill stream and what looked like the old mill building and was quite picturesque. There...

I have stayed here a few times while in Hemel for work. It is situated in a nice spot and has a couple of good pubs across the road for food options and drink. The hotel has definitely seen better times and looks very dated. Lots of visable wear and tear on carpets, fixtures and fittings. The shower was OK...

The rooms and service were left wanting at this establishment. Bathrooms and bedrooms have seen better days and the same member of staff seem to do all jobs. Costing of rooms were interesting, I was quoted one price, charged another on arrival and my final bill was more! Bar service late in the evening was none existent and we had...

I booked a double room for the night of 12th November, the booking was made approximately 4 weeks ago. Today the hotel rang to say the room I had booked was no longer available, as they had a coach and the hotel was fully booked. I was naturally furious and the hotel employee told me he could book me into...

The watermill is well located on the old A41 between Hemel and Berkhamsted, about 1/2 mile from the Bourne End turn off on the new A41. The room we stayed in was one of the early construction and is of a motel type accessed from outside, but of no issue in so being. Reception was minimally manned upon arrival at...
