We stayed for a night in the middle of a two week stay on the Isle of Wight. The welcome and room were very good, Nick was pleasant and helpful and the room was fine, a bit tired in places but nothing to complain about. We ate in the pub in the evening and apart from a wait for dessert...

Visited at a lunchtime and had a lovely ploughmans but our return in an evening was very poor. We pre-booked and told the staff that we were going to be having the seafood platter in case they needed to order the lobster. When we arrived we found our table was in a corner of the public bar next to the...

The food was by no means bad, but it wasn't exceptional. The portion sizes were good but not tasty enough to make me want to return for the money it cost. The food was bland, even the puddings! I get the feeling the seafood (which we didn't have) was the main focus and to be fair the people that had...

This is a lovely place to have lunch, small but cosy, striped wood interior and excellent seafood. It's a bit on the expensive side but then it's aimed squarely at the well heeled market . There are some reasonably priced dishes and the beer is well kept .

We were staying on the campsite opposite and had tea here on Sunday. The menu looked so attractive we were spoiled for choice. In the end hubby had lamb and I had pork loin and they were both delicious! The meals came with veggies on a side plate to share and there was more than enough. We were stuffed until...

When did this pub so disastrously change hands? Our last visit was 2014, having also visited in 2012 and 2013. Back then, you received a very warm welcome. There was full waiting staff service in the garden provided by very friendly, professional staff. They would pass you a menu you could read from the card, and took your order for...

My husband and I stopped for lunch on our way to The Needles. Its a nice place, unassuming from the outside. We didn't know what to expect. The menu is chalked onto a blackboard in the bar area. Its a varied menu. They seem to do a lot of fresh seafood. I decided to go for cauliflower cheese and salad...

My husband and I plus our teenager were able to eat and stay B&B with only 5 minutes notice at 7pm ! All staff were friendly and the eve meal was really excellent food from an impressive and varied menu. We sat by the log fire on a nasty Feb eve and it was bliss. Our bedrooms were both lovely...

First thanks to the barman for saving us a table. lovely fish and chips and good portions. Great cosy atmosphere on a windy, sunny last day of 2015. The Isle of Wight needs many more pubs like this. A proper walkers pub in a stunning location.
