Very recommended! We spend here 3 nights and had a wonderful time. Sean and Corinne were very friendly, attentive and helpful. They can provide you with good information about the attractions in the neighbourhood and different pubs and restaurants. The extensive breakfast (with a lot of choices) was delicious, especially the different home made marmelades and jams. We stayed in...

We hope you'll be back someday. We can always be the first stop from the continent and there are lots of reasons to stay around rather than to pass through. Well have more shades of marmalade when you come again and, of course, our homemade brea and everything else..

This was our second visit to Godwin House and it was every bit as enjoyable as our first. Corinna and Sean are so hospitable and, once again, gave us a very warm welcome. The Garden Cottage is beautifully appointed to a very high standard with lots of little touches that made our stay so comfortable. There was a wide selection...

Well it was fun to see you again and we're glad you felt we maintained the standard. It is about detail and we try to remember that all the time. We're ready for your third whenever you fancy - which we hope you do!

We offered our parents a midweek vaccation in Kent. It was their first English experience and we could not have found a better base to explore the garden of England. Sean and Corinna's welcome with tea and cake in their beautiful garden made us feel at home right away and Sean's knowledge of French broke the language barrier. The garden...

Merci de votre gentillesse... it's always enjoyable to have guests who are enthusiastic about this beautiful area. It is a good place to introduce people to England. Next time you come here we should have made some more marmalade flavours to try.

Based on a random we found Godwin House. I was the very best stay during our trip (including 3 stays). The whole premises is wonderful and offers much space for recreation. Garden House as a former shed is a romantic place with all features of 5 star accommodation. Especially the hospitality of Garden House hosts Corinne and Sean have to...

Well, thank you for calling us the best. Hooray! We enjoyed having you and showing you the discovery of porridge - a Scottish rather than an English breakfast ingredient. You came as you say on a 'random' basis, but we hope next time (and we hope there will be a next time) you won't have to take pot luck! You'll...

An excellent location and very easy to find. Lovely room with full facilities, very welcoming and incredibly helpful hosts – nothing was too much trouble for Sean and Corinna. A wonderful breakfast with excellent local produce.

Thank you for your kindness. It's all lovely around here and there's so much of it. It's worth coming again and coming with someone to share it. We look forward to seeing you.

We spent a lovely weekend in the beautiful Garden Cottage. We were warmly welcomed by Sean and Corrina. After Sean showed us around we enjoyed tea and home made cake in the lovely garden. The breakfast was plentiful with a wide range of home made dishes such as fruit compote and a great choice of home made speciality marmalades. A...

It's a lovely summer stay at Godwin House. We're proud of the gardens- nice for relaxing after the exertions of wandering around Sissinghurst Gardens up the road. Thank you for your kind comments. Do come again- maybe a spring visit? The garden is full of hope then.

The Garden House was full of really thoughtful amenities, including good lamps to read by, and Sean's tour on arrival explaining how things worked was a model of hostly considerateness. The bed was very comfortable and the titles of the many books impressive. We had a most lovely walk around the garden and sat on a bench overlooking the ha-ha...

It was sparkly having you here. Great conversation and much in common. We do look forward to repeating the experience. It is a paradoxical feature of coming here that you can be active and relax at the same time. There's still much more to do with Pevsner and our historic walks guides. I am sorry to say I think a...

We based ourselves at Godwin House so we could be near to Sissinghurst and Great Dixter. We hope you do do a repeat. There are lots more books to look at and to talk about and as we said a short trip is hardly world enough and time to see what you can see here, not least other gardens. And Sissinghurst is always worth more than one visit. Thank you for saying such nice things and...

We spent a wonderful three nights in the quirky, delightful 18th century Oast House at Godwin. House. We hope the picnic breakfast took the edge off the cruelly early start. We tried to make it a bit varied. We like the description of 'quirky' for Godwin's Oast House. It is a quirk in that there is nothing like it. It's the only surviving 16th Cent type oast house which was rebuilt in the 18th Cent so it...

Upon arrival at The Godwin House B&B, we received a very warm welcome by our host and hostess Seán and Corinna. It's easy to be enthusiastic about the places around here because it is so special. It is among the best of England and that's high standard. We enjoyed sharing it with you and hope to do so again. We do think the Garden Cottage is quite a romantic place and are glad you thought so.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
You are invited to bed and breakfast at our Tudor home in the heart of the Weald of Kent. Godwin House, is an Elizabethan farmhouse built in 1580 and, set in lovely grounds minutes from ancient Cranbrook and Sissinghurst. You can choose between two luxurious en suite rooms - stylish Garden Cottage or our beautiful, unique Oast House, the oldest in England, a 16th Century building rebuilt in 1740. Garden Cottage with its peg tiled roof and weatherboarding is pure Kentish style. Exposed beams and antique furniture create a welcoming and interesting space, relaxing and private. Godwin’s Oast House is special. There’s nowhere like it. You are in the heart of Kent’s history and rural life but with en-suite comfort, fine furnishings, king sized sleigh bed and mod cons. Breakfast is the best of local produce with home baked bread fresh on the day served in our Tudor Morning Room in the house overlooking the views in this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. ... more   less
