If the UK had a guide like the Cheminée Jaune in France, then this hotel would definitely make the top in it. The place breaths history, has great countryside views. Very friendly service and honest kitchen (fresh ingredients, great taste, decent price).

This is a lovely friendly hotel/inn the rooms are very clean and unusual as they are what you would imagine a English inn to be like. The staff could not be more helpful and friendly. The food is of the highest quality using the best ingredients. Cannot recommend a better place to stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time spent at the Star and Eagle. Our room was clean and very pretty. The food was absolutely excellent and the staff were all amazing, very helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. We would recommend this B&B to any friends or relatives.

I was in urgent need of accommodation for a business trip to this part of Kent and all other known hotels were completely booked, so I chanced upon the Star and Eagle. What a great choice it turned out to be. The building itself is quite obviously steeped in history and the owners have ensured it has not lost any...

We were very impressed by this hotel and we loved its history! (It was built in the 1300s and was home to a gang of smugglers in the 1700s.) The staff went out of their way to be helpful on a few occasions and the food in the dining room, while not cheap, was first class! The only small snag...

This charming hotel came up trumps yet again. Beautiful views out of my bedroom window at the back of the hotel........ how often can you look out over rolling hills at night and not see a single light? This village is all about an England which is fast disappearing and cannot be beaten for old fashioned charm and beauty. Staff...

Stayed here just the night as my wife and I had a day planned at Bedgebury forest. I booked a 4 poster bed room, which was at the front of the building. Spacious and comfortable. Lovely meal in the evening and an excellent breakfast in the morning. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Would recommend.

We stayed 2 nights. Got a lovely room, all oak beams and lead lattice windows with a wonderful view across the Weald one way and the local church another way. Hotel is on the road but we didn't hear any traffic noise at night. If you like old places come here! Wonderful old room for eating breakfast in. We stayed...

We spent a lovely night here. The room was clean and comfy with toiletries supplied. Some of the rooms have sloping ceilings so it is worth mentioning if you're tall when booking. Breakfast was tasty and promptly served. They had pre ordered wheat free bread and sausages for me, which I really appreciated as not all hotels are as accommodating....
