We were attracted to this hotel as its billed as The Walpole Bay Hotel and Museum. Its an Edwardian edifice close to the sea - quite attractive on the outside and clearly little changed structurally since its hayday. On closer inspection its a bit tired but the upkeep of such a building to its original style will be expensive particularly...

Spent just one night here whilst in Margate to see the Grayson Perry exhibition at the Turner Gallery. The hotel is quirky but very welcoming and the hundred year old lift is both beautiful and silent. There is a small interesting display of Tracy Emin memorabilia and the napkins decorated by past guests are definitely worth a look. Thoroughly recommend...

We have just spent 1 night here and what a delight it was. We paid for a superior double and it was very nice comfortable and clean. The museum reminded me of my grandfathers house with all the little treasures to be seen. The staff were very welcoming and the lift was dated 1927 and was a working museum piece....

17 family members, age range 6 to 95 enjoying a trip down memory lane; we had such fun, and yes sunshine. The food is superb, the cream teas divine and the staff tireless and always smiling and with a story to tell. The bedrooms are clean and comfortable and the hotel full of memories of a life gone by. Very friendly family-run hotel. We stayed just one night, in a lovely seaview room with a remarkably comfortable bed. Dinner was superb, exceeded expectations. Free on street parking outside, about 15 minutes easy walking along prom to Turner Contemporary.

We did not have the afternoon tea but saw it served to others while we were there and it looked very nice. Would recommend. Would like to...

Just returned home from a five day stay at the WBH which we greatly enjoyed. As soon as you see the WBH Lawn Bowls team enjoying an after match drink, the family birthday gatherings, the 57th annual meeting of a group of Jazz Buff Friends and a big wedding reception you realise that WBH is a place that people (and...
