View on several occasions as it is local. Always rowdy and noisy and you can't hear yourself speak. Pool table and food on most days. Fine to pop in for a quick drink. Nice garden for summer. I believe it is a hotel too. Juke box.

I had to tune in the tv on arrival and it was a bit tricky and not working at first. Then when I switched it off onto standby when I went to get a bite to eat and came back, I had to do it all over again which was annoying. Then the aerial reception was temperamental. Sadly the wi-fi... More

Recently visited the Hussar for the beer festival and I genuinely have to say it was just about the only pub in Margate (although the Hussar is really in Garlinge) that had any atmosphere to it. They say that it's grim up north but I very much beg to differ, the nightlife in Margate in general is absolutely atrocious and... More

Not many places to stay in Westgate so no completion. It needs a good clean and be prepared for loud music until 12 AM. We stayed as it was where we needed to be. Best suited for men on building contracts but it did what we needed for a 1 night stay.

This is a pub with rooms upstairs. We expected a hotel and were shocked at first to have to shout at the bar staff over the load music to find out where the rooms were. The pub music can be heard through the floor and goes on late, push button lights that frequently leave you in darkness even on the... More

Returned today from a 2 night stay here. Must admit I wasn't expecting too much but I was pleasantly surprised. The room was big, clean and very modern. Staff here are very friendly and breakfast was good. It's a bit of a walk into Margate but that didn't worry us. Will stay again next year when we return for the... More

Although the staff are very friendly and the food and service are good - this is a pub, with loud music which reaches the bedrooms. I went to bed at 10 and was unable to sleep because of the pounding drum beat which is incessant until the pub closes. Not good. 😔
