The Print House Hotel garners high marks for its comprehensive amenities and immaculate cleanliness, with guests often noting the comfortable, stylish rooms despite some finding them a tad cozy. Exceptional service is a standout feature, with staff members receiving accolades for their warmth and helpfulness.
Its prime location is frequently celebrated for its convenience to local attractions. While the inclusive continental breakfast is a hit, a few patrons suggest that the cooked breakfast options could be more economically priced.

Had a couple of nights here, really pleasant and friendly hotel with working owners and great staff who all make sure you’re comfortable. Excellent breakfast included, Greek yogurt, cereal, fruit, toast/bread jam and pastries, juice and coffee, or pay extra for cooked. We had dinner and lunch here, both were first rate and the restaurant is clearly becoming popular with locals. Quieter rooms are at the back

We visited the Print House after seeing there was a new restaurant on the site where a few have been before it. It looks lovely from the outside and we were really impressed by the warmth and hospitality of the staff and the whole atmosphere in general. They were very accommodating with our 2 year old who ate an enormous portion of food, so a thumbs up from her too!
Food was good, priced similarly to like in the area and the drinks list was extensive with a great range of English wines.
We would recommend and will definitely be back

Wow what a gem! A fantastic gastro pub/inn experience from start to finish. Where to start! The team have recently refurbed the common areas and rooms with a very trendy individualistic feel/look with attention to detail everywhere at every turn. The attention to detail is followed through to the customer experience with the staff being friendly & knowledgeable about the local area/food & drink. The menu had the right amount of choice emphasising seasonal and local produce with the food itself being some of the best I’ve experienced from a gastro pub/inn in recent years. Worth every penny and looking forward to returning.

Thank you so much for your really kind comments. I am so pleased that you enjoyed your evening and the food. We are so proud of Martin Elliot or Chef and his team. He cares passionately about the food he cooks and we all work hard to support our local suppliers. Again my thanks Seonaid

Myself and my partner stayed at The Print House for one night. We were meant to stay four nights but we had no option but to check out early because of the excessive traffic noise. We didn't get to sleep until late and we were woken at six am. The hotel is on a junction with traffic lights which exacerbates the noise when the heavy goods vehicles and motor bikes are idling and then accelerating away. We appreciate that the hotel is a listed building and that double glazing can't be fitted but there is no mention of noise on the online brochure. We brought the problem to the attention of Andrew, one of the owners but he was in complete denial that there was a problem, even though they do supply ear plugs!!!. Seonaid the Co owner did however intervene and offered us a refund for the nights that we weren't going to stay. They both categorically denied that noise was an issue in that particular room but other booking platforms have quite a few comments about noise.Â
I will now get to the rest of my review. We arrived on Sunday afternoon and were greeted by Ben and Eva, two very professional friendly front of house staff. We ordered drinks and sat in the sunny beer garden where very good live entertainment was provided. Our room was pleasant with a huge comfy double bed, tea and coffee was available, the bathroom was bigger than expected having the only hanging space for our clothes which seemed a bit strange. Toiletries and towels were of excellent quality.Â
We ate in the hotel that evening and the service and food were excellent.

I can honestly say this couple were the most difficult my team have ever had to deal with.. That said this is an interesting business trying to ensure everyone has a pleasant stay and sometimes you simply can't! We are on a main road and the room this couple stayed in our suite which most people appreciate and enjoy.. This couple patently didn't, hence I suggested they may want to use the B&B they always stay in and enjoy.

The Print House is a lovely old building that has been wonderfully decorated. The welcome was very warm and freindly and we felt instantly at ease. The food in the restaurant and at breakfast was lovely and the range of locally sourced products is great.
The Proofing Room, our lovely little room, had the most comfortable bed I can remember, we slept like logs after a delicious meal ( you just can’t beat a great burger 😀).
Looking forward to returning again to further explore this lovely area.

Nice enough rooms, but desperately in need of double glazed windows. Main road outside coupled with traffic lights results in significant traffic noise.
We came back to hotel at 10pm after being out for dinner to find the bar closed and everything closed up. The details provided confirmed the bar was open until 11pm and the availability of an honesty bar, which we couldn’t locate. A bit disappointing.
Continental breakfast was included in the room price , and priced at £12.50 on the menu. Cooked breakfast was £14.50. We were told this was in addition to the £12.50. We didn’t want the continental breakfast only the cooked but would have had to pay £27 for that which is bonkers!
Nice rooms, but a few tweaks would significantly improve the experience

Thank you for you insights sir.. I will need to ensure some of the 'Tweaks' are sorted out as this is important to us.. Unfortunatelty double glazed windows are not an option in a listed building but we are working with an architect on what we can do!!

Full of character with quirky, individually themed rooms. Very comfortable bed and pillows. A bonus was being able to access your own Netflix account on the TV in the room. The continental breakfast included (it does say when you book that breakfast is included, bit you have to pay extra for a cooked one) was very good. Friendly, helpful owners/staff.

Thank you for your kind words and I am glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. As for Netflix accounts we all like a little bit of our when away. As for the breakfast I am sorry you missed the info on our website.. 'The Print House Continental Breakfast is included in your room booking. If you fancy something big, British and beautifully cooked this is available for a small supplement.' Hopefully we will see you again one day.. Seonaid

We have never been made to feel more welcome. We called in advance to say we would be a bit late and everything was closed when we arrived. The owners went straight to the kitchen to prepare a cheese and vegetable platter, even though the chef had gone home, and to top it all, they would not allow us to pay!!!
The breakfast was fab and very fresh but above all, the atmosphere was wonderful and the owners / staff went above and beyond. Needless to say, I highly recommend staying here!!

Suck luck to find this wonderful 16th Century Inn. We spent two nights here and loved every minute. The owners, Seonaid and Andrew, have totally renovated the Inn but kept the charm of the original buildings and included modern, comfortable bedrooms with large screen television, nespresso coffee machine etc (I could go on), as well as en-suite bathrooms equipped with everything you might need. Continental breakfast which was included was extensive and the two evening meals we ate there were exceptional. Andrew drove us to Chapel Down and picked us up later. The owners could not have been more charming or helpful and helped make our stay a very happy one. We would return in a heartbeat.

We had a pleasant stroll to the end of the High Street to try a new business in town.
Away from the main chain pubs, this converted pub offers a large gin selection and a food menu including a set meal.
The pub inside has been completely modernised.
The walled garden behind was fine on a warm even with little traffic noise but is still a work in progress . Once that has been tackled it will make a lovely oasis away from the bigger rowdy outdoor areas up the road.
Parking is difficult due to road junction.
