Just returned from this hotel after our 3rd visit. As a spa hotel it takes some beating. The whole experience is back to a premium hotel. The restaurant is on a different level now and there seem to be plenty more staff to make sure that everything is good. Again Barbara who works there is ultra friendly and remembered us...

Booked spa weekend, but the spa is in need of closing while they revamp it !! Hotel, rooms, staff, food, massage, everything else was lovely but so disappointed by the spa, two broken spa showers, no shower gels in changing rooms, broken tiles in spa rooms where you sit !! Fuse box uncovered , mold in showers, lots of little things that...

The room was in the court yard area, which was quiet. Our room was very cold on entering and smelt damp, but after the two wall heaters were on it warmed up and we didn't seem to notice the smell. Comfy beds, decent blackout curtains. T & C making facilities. Room a bit dated and in need of TLC but...

Stayed here for a couple of nights in March 2017 with colleagues while travelling on business in the area, albeit we didn't make use of the hotel meeting / conference facilities. The guest rooms are clean and comfortable although as some other reviewers have mentioned some of the furniture and fittings are a little worn and dated, but not drastically...

I was very happy that I chose to stay at the Dunkenhalgh at the recommendation of my cousin. Check in was smooth and they let me in the room early. My room was on the third floor and was spacious and clean with a very comfortable bed. I included breakfasts in my stay and enjoyed the selections and was greeted...

To spend a couple of days in a 700 year old castle was the absolute wonder of time long ago. We were fortunate enough to get rooms in the courtyard that initially were the stables in the past. The atmosphere of being back in time yet having access to the modern pool and spa, was so amazing to experience. The...

I enjoyed my stay in the Dunkenhalgh, good service, very good food for both breakfast and evening meal, good leisure facilities. I stayed in a downstairs room for my first 2 nights and it was very spacious and clean but a bit tired. I stayed in an executive room for my last night and it was equally spacious and clean...

Although close to 2 busy towns this imposing hotel overlooks fields so feels rural. Staff are numerous so that service is fast & efficient. Our bedroom was comfortable although the furniture is a little dated. A wide variety of food was available @ breakfast including fresh fruit and salad.I was disappointed in the Eggs Benedict I ordered on the 2nd.day,however:it had...

The 'Dunk' is a personal favourite of mine. I've been staying here on a regular basis for nearly 4 years now. Staff are friendly and attentive. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The quality of the food in the restaurant is excellent. The spa and gym are well equipped and maintained. For business or pleasure you can't go far wrong...

Stayed here quite a few times. Overall very happy However , if there were more alternatives locally - which really there are not - I think this hotel would up its game Customer service fine, food good. Drainage smell in rooms still not dealt with, some parts of spa still not working properly, if weather not good so you cannot...

Dear steph8859, Thank you for your review and good to see you are a regular guest. We continuously strive to deal with any maintenance issue as quickly as possible, not always immediate as parts and labour sought externally. The nature of the layout of the building does pose some challenges when the Hotel is in 'full swing' we do try...
