A group of us stayed from Friday to Monday as we were in the area for a weekend of hiking. Some of the party stayed in twin rooms and myself and others had single-occupancy double rooms. Everyone seemed very satisfied with the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms and also the breakfast (Quite important if you're off to attack Pendle... More

We spent a few days in the Old Posthouse Hotel. The staff were very friendly and looked after us very well, breakfasts were excellent. The hotel is centrally located within walking distance from shops, bars and restaurants. Would definitely go back again.

We spent a most satisfying one night stay here. The hotel is best described as traditional, with decent size rooms and en-suites. Cleanliness was very evident and the bed very comfortable. It is a bonus to find a town centre hotel with its own inclusive car park. Breakfast choice was surprisingly large and ours came beautifully cooked with perfect poached... More

Attending a family wedding with my husband and two daughters, we had a double and twin room both rooms ensuite. Tea/coffee machines with excellent selection choice of drinks. Free shower/bath and shampoo, soap dispenser and hair dryers saves room in bag. Lovely choice of cereals, fresh juices, preserves, toast and real butter, fruit and choices of cooked dishes for breakfast. Staff... More

Over nigh stay with wife and Granddaughter in a family room. Comfortable night in spite of the hot weather. A good choice of options at breakfast, including a choice of cooked breakfast. Evening menu in the restaurant is not very adventurous rather a dull choice which I felt it was not worth buying a bottle of wine. I would like... More

There is a brochure in the hotel that describes the Old Post house as Clitheroes premier hotel - I would hate to see what the others are like. The general public areas are tired and a bit shabby. The large dining room lacks atmosphere and isnt very welcoming. Having said that the breakfast choice is really very good and the... More

Warm welcome, friendly staff and lovely twin room as advertised. Great choice of breakfast options, and served with a warm smile. Couldn't have been happier, stayed with my sister, and would stay again.

From the welcome on arrival, the spotless and well appointed rooms, the superb food at breakfast and dinner alongside the fantastic service. The owners and staff at this lovely hotel should be very proud of their high standards. I'd recommend anyone to stay here as you will enjoy all aspects of your visit. Just returned from a 2 night stay. On arrival we were welcomed by a lad who showed us to our rooms. Ours was number 10 which had a lovely view of the castle....very nice, it was on the top floor which was ok for us but Mother-in-law would have struggled to climb the four flights of stairs and asked if...
