From checking to check out I had no problems, test the decor needs re doing and yesterday the carpet on the stairs could do with replacing but for the money we paid we had a lovely big room with a sleigh bed and very big bath room, we didn't have a flat screen to but we did have a functional...

This was a last minute booking with no research involved in the decision to stay here. I paid the lady behind the bar upon arrival and before seeing my room. After having seen my room I advised of the immediately evident issues: 1) smell of cigarettes 2) light not working on fairly steep staircase but didn't think it was worth...

The rooms were basic and very grubby, bed heads were broken, tv hanging off the wall and kept falling down and shower grout needs a good bleaching. There is a night club in the hotel and all sorts of people wandering round, we even had people knocking on our door in the early hours. Could not wait to leave! Filthy...

I booked this place for my husband, elderly father in law (82) and brother in law to visit relatives in Ashby. I could have booked premier inn just as cheap for the week but thought theyd enjoy the pub atmosphere.....and booked it monday thro to friday. How wrong was I and annoyed that the place was so run down. I...

We are sorry to hear of your experiences and this does not reflect the usual standards of the hotel. Whilst we are a B&B we still strive to offer the best we can in relation to rooms and service. We will review what what wrong and take steps to ensure this does not happen again.

I stayed in this hotel from the 03/06/16 to 06/06/2016 with Family. We arrived around 9.30 pm and were greeted by a lovely member of staff named Tom who checked us in. I paid in full on arrival with my card. We had a lovely stay and the staff were friendly but Tom was exceptional. The location is good as...

Worst stay in a hotel ever! There had obviously been a party in the room the night before that hadn't been cleared up! There was Todd waste everywhere- the bed had no sheets or covers as they were all wet and stained and piled in the corner. No one around to help so had to sleep on the floor! Complained...

This was a bad booking. I turned up and there was no-one there to check me in which left me waiting around. Another couple had been waiting an hour and a half. The room was a bit grubby and needed a clear and refurb. But the worst thing was the noise. It did say it may be noisy on the...

Stayed in single room with shared bathroom. Room was so depressing, mainly because the mattress had a big sag in the middle which not only was uncomfortable (I had to sleep with a pillow underneath me) but also unsettling. Told the cleaner the next morning and she agreed the mattresses were awful but the owners were getting rid of the...

Room is vibrating from music until 3am, I may aswell of had my bed in the club it was that loud! The managers don't grasps customer service very well and they like to charge your card without your permission. My worst...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A family run hotel close to m42, East Midlands airport is approximately 20 minutes away by car. There are many local tourist attractions like Ashby Castle, Twycross zoo, Conkers, Snowdome and Drayton manor park WITHIN APPROX 1/2 HOUR DRIVE. We have two bars and a night club on site which are open every weekend until 2 am and open even later when we have special events on. Due to the fact we are situated on the high street it can be a very noisy venue over the weekend so please bear this in mind. We do not have any disabled facilities and all rooms are on the 1st and second floor so please be aware of this if you wish to stay. Parking facilities are at the rear of the hotel or council run pay and display car parks can be used where there are security cameras. ... more   less
