This pub was recommended by a friend as being a good meeting point for those coming from north and south, being near junction 23 of the M1. What a find! We all enjoyed a wonderful Sunday lunch. The welcome was warm, and the service was exemplary. Two of us had, and really enjoyed, the sharing platter of beef, pork and...

We stayed her for one night a couple of days ago. Our room was lovely. In the annexe next to the pub, parking directly outside, quiet, well equipped. We loved the fabulous comfy bed, jacuzzi bath was fun! We hadn't booked a table for dinner, but we were glad they fitted us in because the food was superb, the staff...

We've been to the Royal Oak several times now and yet again we're so impressed. The food is perfect - it's staggering that if you go early (like we did), the price is about the same as any of the mass-produced pub chain meals! Yet you won't get delicious duck livers and beautiful belly pork all hand-cooked and served by...

We fancied a change from a local eatery, so decided to venture to Long Whatton. The restaurant was pretty much fully booked which sais a lot for a week day. We were seated straight away in the bar / restaurant which has been designed in a warm but luxurious manner. We ordered mains and then deserts. What a great shout,...

Stayed here for one night B&B following a business meeting after reading previous reviews. The room is very tastefully decorated and the bathroom has a large walk in shower which could easily house 3 people... The room oak doors are impressive as is the furniture. The large bed is very comfortable. The attention to detail in this hotel far exceeded...

Both me and my partner had starters and mains! The portions are not on the small side at all! And the food was just amazing! We went on a Tuesday and it wasn't busy and it wasn't quiet. We had a really nice meal and the staff could not have helped more or been more friendly! We will most definitely...

We went to the restaurant for my friends birthday having not been there for years and heard on the grapevine about how good it is. We were not disappointed in any way. We had a great evening, the food was superb - venison in particular was wonderful. The staff very friendly and efficient. They have created a lovely warm and...
