Booked for a 2 night stay and would have loved to stay longer! Everywhere is just beautiful and the public areas have been well thought of and are comfortable. Staff are friendly, polite and professional and will do anything to make your stay a good one. We loved the home made biscuits and thought it was a lovely touch. Our...

We went for lunch on Monday and we were 4 of 6 customers. Sort of the graveyard day. Nevertheless the service was attentive and not over-powering. The dishes we chose were perfect except the belly of pork which was was chewy. Wines excellent. Decor good. Loos exceptional. Just one dish was below par. Maybe it was the Monday chef. I...

Three of us stayed on a great value for money stay and dine deal. The rooms are modern and comfortable with all the amenities that you would expect and the staff are charming, friendly and efficient. I have reviewed the restaurant separately in relation to dinner which was very impressive as was breakfast. Two of us had the English breakfast and...

My husband booked dinner, bed and breakfast to celebrate my birthday as a surprise, having been given instructions that I merely wanted to go out for a really good meal and suggested a gastro pub if he could find one not too far from home. Really liked the décor of the restaurant lounge, breakfast room and the hotel reception area...

A wonderful country setting with fabulous furnishing and fantastic food and drinks, however if you plan to stay DO NOT book a downstairs room, unless you want a sleepless night. You can hear every single footstep above, shower , and if the person above snores it is like they are next to you! Not great for a £150 per night...

Our visit this weekend was spoilt by the very creaky floor boards caused by expanding hot water pipes and the guest in the upstairs room walking around. We were also kept awake by being able to hear this guest's constant snoring; you do not expect this level of poor sound insulation for a room which costs £150. Quite clearly the...

I had a lovely Sunday lunch with my partner this afternoon. The prawns for starters were crispy and well seasoned. I had the pork roast which was a delight and my better half had the lamb, the Yorkshire puddings were the best I've had. We had a young man called Will serving us, he was welcoming to the point it...

We stayed when celebrating mother in laws 90th birthday. Having eaten there before were looking forward to an enjoyable evening with family. Checked in at 3.30 pm went smoothly until we asked if we could get a bar snack as we had been traveling for 4 hours. That was the first disappointment, sorry the kitchen is closed I can offer...
