The best hotel I have stayed in. The little touches make all the difference, the owners have thought of the every thing.!there is a beautiful terrace with uninterrupted views of Filey bay, warm fur blankets on all the chairs outside, the owner bringing fur coats to keep you warm if you stay outside in North Yorkshire The decor is lovely,...

This place is fantastic, we return time after time! Firstly the gorgeous decor and amazing view!! The fact they LOVE children and animals!!! Dogs are not allowed in the hotel but outside, which is just so comfortable with luxurious blankets to tuck you up in the cold. The food is amazing and the finest quality, with great selection for every...

Lovely break. We enjoyed the April mini heatwave and were made to feel very at home. We had a room on the top floor which was up a lot of stairs but had a great view. So lovely and relaxing to see and hear the sea changing hour by hour. Food was delicious and ate every night in the restaurant....

We stayed here on Saturday night and it was fantastic..........what a find! Everything was really nice - the room, the service, the food, we couldn't fault it. The hotel is situated right on the sea front and it was lovely sitting outside eating our breakfast on Sunday morning, in the sunshine, watching the world go by. We shall definitely be...

We drove to the area to take part in an organised Spaniel dog walk on a Hunmanby Gap/Filey beach. It was 23 degrees, a beautiful day, so we walked Jasper the 4km or so down to Filey itself. The plan was to sit and have fish and chips by the sea, but as we walked we spotted the Downcliffe. The...

We were recommended to this hotel by a friend but very unsure when we saw 2 huge Buddha faces outside this hotel on the beachfront-the only hotel I believe on the front but we did like the burning flames torches which were very glam. Do not be put off by the buddahs-the zen and welcome are definitely worth it. The...

First trip to Filey on a recommendation to stay at this seafront boutique hotel. What a gem of a place! Right on the beach, extensive outdoor terrace which attracts the sun all day, great lunch menu and an even better evening menu. Dinner, lunch and breakfast superb, along with excellent staff and service - could not ask for more. Large...

Just back from a 3night stay at the Downcliffe. What an amazing place, it is beautifully decorated and all the staff were great, so helpful and polite. We ate there every night, the food is wonderful, plenty of variety, all beautifully presented. We had a room on the front with sea view. (No 2) large room , plenty of space,...
