Having been here every year for a festive night away with family, we returned again this year and it was better than ever. The rooms are beautifully decorated with a small free bottle of sloe gin, a goody basket of treats to purchase and free fruit in a bowl. Cowshed toiletries are in the en suite and smell divine. A...

We had our wedding here on the 19th December, it could not have being more perfect, Jaquie the owner was so friendly and helpful in every way. We don't live local so she gave us many useful contacts and was always happy to help. The other staff in the hotel we're great and could not have done enough for us....

We had an overnight here with friends. The hotel were very obliging, allowing us an early check-in and a relatively late lunch of a big platter of delicious assorted sandwiches with a couple of salads. The public rooms are cosy and quirky with roaring fires and lots of interesting bits and pieces. We had a four poster room and a...

My husband booked us a one night stay between Christmas and new year to celebrate our anniversary. Having stayed here before and also visited for afternoon tea, I was very much looking forward to our stay. I came away feeling disappointed. We had a ground floor room next to reception, which although well appointed, was noisy and felt overlooked. The...

We have visited for lunch a few times and decided to hold our wedding here in the middle of winter. The venue, for a smallish, intimate wedding was perfect and generally commented on by most of our guests. The staff were attentive and took as much stress away as possible and the food was brilliant. The rooms are all lovely...

Three old friends and their wives met here for Christmas as all their children were "playing away", We had hoped for an hotel well run and closely supervised by the owner in a family atmosphere. Sadly this was not the case despite the best efforts of the polish supervising barman. there were many good points, the room, though the house...

What a gorgeous hotel, I just want to live there! Beautiful countryside and beautiful hotel. My friend and I went for a wreath making workshop, warm welcome, a snug area that you never wanted to leave. Very helpful staff, a lovely 3 three course lunch in a very tasteful, warm and cosy restaurant. They staff could not do enough for...

Charming staff, great chef, snug yet sophisticated surroundings. Well priced for what you are getting. 2 excellent reception areas, one with bar, both with fires (one open/one a wood burner) and 2 very nice dining rooms - conservatory style and the other more formal. All round, lovely place.

Really looking forward to the stay, It was the first night away for my wife and I in 16 years without kids. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the food excellent but the room was not very well cared for, very dusty and the bathroom not very clean at all. Mould round the bath and stains on the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Pheasant has arguably one of the most beautiful Country Hotel settings in North Yorkshire, over looking the duck pond in the picturesque village of Harome. Originally converted from what had been the blacksmith's shop, village shop and barns, the main part of the hotel offers one single and eleven double rooms, whilst in the sheltered courtyard are two suites, the Pheasant Suite and Plum Cottage, each with its own private entrance, two further family rooms which each have two bedrooms and the heated indoor swimming pool. The stylish and highly individual interiors - designed by Director Jacquie Pern - give the accommodation a homely and welcome feel, which continues throughout the public areas: the lounge, bar, conservatory, dining room and terrace, providing a variety of options of where to eat or enjoy a drink. The Pheasant has established a reputation for great food under the capable hands of Chef/Director Peter Neville. Residents and non-residents can choose from a wide range of menus, all taking advantage of the wealth of local, seasonal produce, including a fixed price daily Market Menu, the A la Carte, and a Tasting Menu with optional matched wine package. The Pheasant has been awarded Welcome to Yorkshire's "Small Hotel of the Year 2016". In 2014 The Pheasant was awarded the Yorkshire Life "Small but Special Accommodation" Award. The Hotel has recently been awarded Three AA Red Stars Inspectors' Choice Country House Hotel. Seasonal and special breaks are available throughout the year. ... more   less
