This was our third visit to Simonstone, and the hotel, location, staff and food never fail to impress, however this weekend they went above and beyond, catering for our large group of family and friends celebrating a 40th Birthday. The hotel has a brilliant organisation and booking process, dealing quickly and easily with special requests, swaps, and various changes (that... More

Having an unexpected break at the weekend my sister and I found this wonderful country house hotel near Hayes which has the added advantage of being dog friendly. Rooms are lovely and warm - max had his own bowl and welcome too. We were also pleased to find that he was welcome to sit in the bar while we sit... More

The restaurant is a traditional wood panelled room but with fine foods and some surprising touches, the butternut squash lollipop being just one. To say more would spoil the surprise! Welcoming and knowledgeable waiter.

Booked a table for lunch and was not disappointed with the delicious food. Hearty portions and beautifully cooked. We had a fish/seafood sharing starter and then I had fish which was simply cooked and delicious. The dessert that my husband ordered (some kind of summer trifle) was amazing. It looked like a portion for a family of four! It came... More

I came across this hotel by chance while driving home from Scotland and deciding to detour into the Yorkshire Dales. I received a warm welcome from the lovely young lady on reception and quickly decided to book 2 rooms for the night one for me and another for my mum. Both rooms were comfortable, the beds were amazing, with snuggly... More

I stayed here with my wife 11/11/2016. The room was clean and warm. The bedroom and bathroom were very good. The evening meal was very good. Nothing too much trouble, staff very friendly. Dont know why the extractor fan in the bathroom stayed on for half an hour after you turn the light out in the bathroom (room 19) but... More

The location in Autumn was outstanding, and the warmth of Simonstone Hall was warm friendly and inviting. Outstanding service and attention to detail. The food was delicious and of a high standard. If you are looking for something a little special, presented well, without being over priced, then this is your place. A treat for a special occasion. I would... More

Hi there Mollypops111 - we're so glad that you enjoyed you Sunday lunch! We are working hard to ensure that our Sunday roast is the best in Yorkshire and are now serving our Sunday menu from 1-8pm, including slow-roast lamb from the farm next door - doesn't get much more 'locally-sourced' (or tasty) than that! We really look forward to... More

Such a pity as I had been looking forward to a stay at Simonstone Hall for many years. Certainly not a cheap place to stay but I expected that. The disappointments were the view from my room, mainly rooftops, the effort that needed to be expended to properly flush my toilet, the lack of understanding of someone with limited mobility... Hi there, very many thanks for your feedback. I have discussed your review with all staff and are surprised by your comments! - I understand that you were disappointed with the view from your room, however, as this is our standard room category (and cheapest available) I am confident that, before booking, our Reception had explained the room tarrifs and... Absolutely loved my weekend stay at Simonstone. Amazing views to escape the city, great vibe and very friendly staff. Super close to pubs & shops near by to explore the local area too. Room was very clean and amazing Victorian/Georgian features. Will definitely be returning to this beautiful spot in the lakes, but with more friends next time!
