Stayed on a Saturday night, access is off of the a14 westbound only but close junctions. Kettering center 2 mile away. If you get a room facing away from the motorway, dead quiet. friendly helpful staff.

Reasonable price, starbucks next door and service station.

The only downside was given the room was more than large enough, why such a tiny bathroom with a bath a hobbit would struggle to fit into. I am 6'4 and had to do a leg at a time ....

Stayed here for 2 nights with my sisters just a few days ago, beds were really comfortable and clean. It’s basic and could do with little upgrades here and there. We were in room 2 and unfortunately right beside the door leading to reception which was being banged constantly through the night, suggest maybe investing in a soft close hinge or something on that door. Maid was cleaning the opposite room and saw us leaving around 10:40am the following morning, we left the card on the door, before 11am as instructed, to request clean towels and bin emptied etc, got back that evening and she hadn’t done them.
Overall though it’s fine for what you’re paying and we’d stay there again, we’d just request a room far away from that door!

Good value for money. Large clean, well appointed comfortable quiet room. Friendly attentative staff.
Got good night's sleep despite being off motorway.
Access from motorway only so not suitable for foot traffic; however recommended taxi firm was very reliable and competitive.

The hotel itself is very professional. The receptionist on the shift Nadia, was very kind to inform us with everything we needed to know about our stay, she told us where the room was situated in the hotel. She has also given us directions of places where we can eat and places to visit such as attractions. The room was very clean and we could smell freshness the moment we got in the room.

Booked and paid for a double and a twin room in September 2021 for our visit this month. On arrival I was given 2 keys and on asking which was the twin I was told room 30 and that it should have a pull out bed. The pull out bed should be made up but if not the receptionist would sort it out. There was no pull out bed in either the double or twin room.
I returned to reception and was told there were no more twin rooms and on saying this was not satisfactory was told I could speak to the manager when they came in at 7.00 the following morning.
I stressed how long ago I had booked and paid and was then told the receptionist could look for a spare pull out bed but could not move it. I said we would move it, but was far from happy with the situation.
After checking several rooms a room was found with a made up pull out bed. No one had checked into this room and after a telephone call to the manager we were allowed to swap rooms. I was told that the receptionist would have to find another hotel when they checked in.I was also told the system would allow over booking.
I paid nearly 40% more for the twin room than the double and was disgusted that having paid well in advance we were almost forced to have a double not twin.
The bathroom in the double had a very squeaky floor which must be a nightmare for the room below..There was a smell of drains in the double room which cleared when the windows were opened.

Clean and decent hotel for a few nights stay
Very local to many areas and easily accessible to A14 motorway and connecting areas.
Would benefit from its own restaurant as only offers cereal breakfast but Starbucks is next door but does not have that much choice of food for our needs.
There is a m and s food place at petrol station adjacent where things can be obtained so microwave facility would also be useful (hence need for restaurant option!)
Staff have always been very friendly and helpful here and try resolve and issues quickly.
Has a reasonably big car park but fills quickly in an evening especially if people pop into Starbucks!

I stayed here for a night. Very comfortable and clean bed. The carpet could have done with a hover around the legs if the bed, desk and chairs and the bathroom floor needed a wet wipe behind the door. But for the price, it was definitely good value for money and I'd stay again.

Stayed in this Travelodge for one night in December as it was very reasonably priced and only a few miles from our destination of Adrenaline Alley in Corby. The receptionist, who'd obviously been on duty all day, was very friendly and efficient even at 10.40pm when we checked in. The room (a family room) was perfectly clean as was the bathroom, and, as far as I could tell, so was the rest of the hotel. Any noise from the adjacent dual carriageway was barely noticeable. The beds were comfortable, including the pull out single. Only downsides were we had three hand towels in the room - not the fluffy bath towels we were expecting. Not easy to dry yourself after a shower with a hand towel. And the room was distinctly chilly when we entered as the heater was turned off. Had to keep outside coats on for fifteen minutes until the room warmed up after turning the heater on. I'd have expected the heating in a pre-booked room to have been turned on in advance of arrival in December. But these were minor niggles and overall it was a perfectly adequate place for an overnight stop and I'd happily use it again.

I came with my husband and brother in law we are elderly and 1 wheelchair bound. We were placed in a downstairs room which was clean and comfortable for us and the hotel Manager Louisa was on the night shift and could not be more helpful even at 1.30 am when i asked if i could borrow a charger she was more than happy to help. The hotel was clean and smelt fresh from the entrance to our room. It was a very pleasant stay and will definitely recommend to family and friends

Booked and paid for a Saturday night a week prior, price was ÂŁ82. Tried to check in an hour early but would have to pay ÂŁ10 , so arrived later at 1900 but was number 3 in the queue of displaced guests because of central reservations overbooking assuming "No Shows" Escalated to Regional Manager who was the only one empowered to resolve the situation. Poor receptionist struggling with email communication with central booking who did not respond to her requests for alternate beds up to 10-20 miles away. As a routine, like airlines, they overbook on peak times assuming or hoping for no shows. A business model based on greed.

An extra bed costs ÂŁ5.50. When you book a room make sure to book a DSPN (family) room and not a DN (double) and state in the comments/extras Twin. x

How can I get from the station to this travelodge please? Is there busses or local cab firms maybe?
Answer from Claire L
Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom57 contributions9 helpful votes
I think you'd have to get a taxi as it's not on a bus route. It's not too far from Kettering centre, maybe a 5 to 10 minute drive. If you want somewhere which is walking distance to other places I'd pick somewhere else to stay as there's only a little chef and a garage that you can walk to.
