Detailed Reviews
After travelling 10 hours on a coach to arrive in Kettering all I wanted was a cup of coffee, a warm room and a good nights sleep, yet upon arriving at Brooklyn House I was presented with so much more. Greeted warmly by Amanda and Matthew, the proprietors of the house, and offered the much needed cup of coffee, myself and my girlfriend were lead to a beautifully furnished (and fully stocked with biscuits, coffee and kettle) double room, with a quaint balcony and pleasant views. After settling in and having spoken to the couple about our plans of going into town for the evening we were graciously offered a lift, saving us the 1.5 mile walk after lugging hiking backpacks around all day. The next morning we were presented with cereals, fresh fruit, and a full cooked breakfast, and were both astonished when Amanda's gut instinct guessed correctly that my girlfriend was a vegetarian- No Worries!- vegetarian sausages were at the ready instantly. We were then once again graciously given a lift by Matthew to Kettering train station saving us a gruesome 3 mile hike with our backpacks. It was at this point that we parted ways, however little did I know that the couple would prove to be our saviors a few days later. After a weekend of festival going at the nearby Boughten House my girlfriend and I were faced with the prospect of missing our coach home as we had no money to travel into Kettering via taxi and the shuttle bus timetable had been delayed. After swallowing my pride and ringing Matthew asking if it was possible for him to pick us up, I was told not to worry about it, that he would leave immediately to come and get us. And so he did, dropping us in town free of charge at 9am on a bank holiday monday. This couple are the friendliest, most welcoming and caring people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, their B&B is a breath of fresh air and I certainly would stay nowhere else when visiting Kettering.

Fabulous. Met at the door with a cup of tea. Felt totally relaxed and cared for. These people deserve to succeed. Beautiful room, nice bedding, great little balcony, super clean, superbly cooked veggie breakfast. I stay at many places twice the price and they do not offer any more. I miss home and this made me feel at home.

Booked a night at this B&B weeks ago, and confirmed the reservation by 'phone yesterday. Arrived at the accommodation - no one there to let us in! We were tired and ready for a shower and evening meal and thought it strange that property was unoccupied despite being during check in hours. A resident arrived and said he thought proprietor was at Asda - strange when expecting customers but never mind we said we would wait. Quite rightly he said he couldn't let us in, and we understood this. 20 minutes later a couple arrive (with Asda bags) was this the proprietors? Don't know because despite ringing, knocking and telephoning no one would come to the door. There was no indication where the proprietor was or how long she would be. After 45 minutes we decided to give up and have travelled 1.5 hours to come back home (and will have to do the same journey back to Kettering tomorrow). No one from Brooklyn House has yet had the decency to return my calls. This place is rated highly on Booking.com; all I can say is the reports on there must be made up. This has ruined our weekend. Disgraceful "service"

Having booked a room online through Bookings.com, the land lady called me later that evening to say that her husband had already allocated my room and not informed her.
Really need to get your act together.

Amanda and Matthew are lovely hosts. I arrived late, with some food bought on the motorway... Amanda heated the meal, set the table and made me a very good coffee (not in that order) with a great welcoming smile. the room was clean and comfortable and breakfast a veritable feast. A very good stay. Recommended!

i had the pleasure of staying here the latter part of last year as I was working in Kettering.
The accommodation is first class and the food is excellent.
The hosts approach is great, when your tired and just want to flop out in peace they leave you alone, when you want company they pick you.
Their approach to customer service is excellent and they go the extra mile to ensure your stay is great and help with any issues that come up.
They are not complacent and are always looking at ways to improve the environment or customer experience.
I usually stay in hotels when working away and this was the first time I tried a B&B as long as I find ones as good as the Brooklyn and Amanda and Matt I will continue to use them.
If you are thinking of staying - don't hesitate or that booking will be filled.
