Good to be back at this hotel, a very warm welcome from Mrs Mcquade and a very comfortable bed. Although this hotel is small the relaxed period quality of the building makes it something special and the breakfast is one of the best I have ever had at a B & B. Well worth a visit if you are in...

The Hawthorn House turned out to be my haven, having returned to Kettering from Chicago for two weeks to visit my mother, recently moved to a care home, and clear out her house nearly. After a stressful day, it was so relaxing to go back in time in this beautiful old house. Mrs McQuade was such a delight and this...

This lovely place to stay is in a wonderful period house that retains its original Edwardian, arts and crafts feel thanks to sympathetic furniture and fittings,Its not brand new or minimalist, but it is clean, very comfortable and provides an extremely good breakfast. Mrs McQuade is an absolute gem of a proprietor. Very welcoming and friendly. The hotel is on...

My husband and I stayed for 1 night at this super hotel and was made to feel very welcome by Mrs McQuade who was so lovely and kind and couldn't do enough for us. Our room was lovely and clean and had everything that we needed for our 1 night stay. Breakfast was awesome and plentiful. We would defiantly recommend...

One of the comfiest beds I have ever slept in! The host was so lovely and allowed us to check in really early as we were going to a wedding. Our breakfast order was taken when we checked in and so when we sat down in the morning it was ready for us straight away! And it tasted lovely! I...

I was given a warm welcome from the proprietor. I felt the hotel was run efficiently but also with a personal touch. Breakfast was satisfying, and given in the warm and comfortable dining room. The Victorian hotel has an old-fashioned feel, which I liked. I stayed in the Coach House which has a very comfy bed and was quiet, despite...

The owner is really welcoming. The house is beautiful, full of character and extreamly comfortable. The breakfasts were amazing, I even took pictures of it to show my Canadian family at home, best ever! Will book again next year.

Lovely Mrs McQuade was so friendly and hospitable throughout the whole of our recent first stay. She could not do enough for us. A very comfortable room complete with a courtesy fridge and a bowl of sweets. A good wholesome breakfast every morning. We will definitely return

Wanted to avoid the impersonal hotel chains and opt for a unique travel experience. Great choice. Like stepping back in time. Mrs McQuade was most welcoming and helpful and although travelling on my own I felt perfectly at ease. Very homely, with the added bonus of a most tasty breakfast!

Needed somewhere central and well priced and as a bit of a punt, stayed here. It was a very good (luck) decision. The owner was very nice throughout. The room was clean and comfortable. The lounge quirky, but relaxing and breakfast always very good. I would recommend more than most regular hotels and certainly above travelodge type places.
