Stoped at the Plough on the way home from our daughters wedding. A really nice boutique hotel/pub. The room was very spacious and well appointed . The bed was huge and had comfortable pillows which is one of our concerns at hotels. They nailed the comfort. A huge tv properly sited so you didn't have to crick your neck to... More

The hotel is well placed in Alnwick and there is plenty parking spaces at the rear. The rooms are excellent: beds comfy with some nice touches including the in-house cookies. The hotel staff are great and very helpful. Breakfast was wonderful: try the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. Food generally was very tasty and of a high standard. If you... More

The Plough was on the way back to my B&B and I ate there on two occasions. The staff were friendly, professional and efficient. The menu had a good variety of choices. The food was tasty and well presented. My favourite place in Alnwick for a reasonably priced, tasty meal with good atmosphere.

Wonderful food, great variety and beautifully cooked and presented. Not cheap, but not overly expensive. Very friendly and helpful staff answering our questions about ingredients and sauces. Decoration and ambience very good.

The staff at the Plough are friendly and welcoming and the rooms are clean. They have made an effort to make sure the rooms have all required amenities and have good coffee makers and fresh cookies in the room on arrival. The mattresses definitely need replacing; the springs have gone. The walls are a bit thin - we could hear... More

We had the worst Sunday lunch at the plough on the 16th oct . we will never return. The beef was so thick and fatty with gristle, the veg was overlooked and there was hardly any gravy. We ordered the cheese board as we were still so Hungary. This too was a disappointment, the grapes were shrivelled up and should have gone straight... More

Booked a night away at The Plough on Saturday 8th October for my partners birthday, on arrival the Hotel is easy to find, right on the main road and parking is accessible with plenty of space. The Plough is as beautiful on the outside as it is inside, the bar & restaurant is beautiful, even the pictures online don't do... More

Went for lunch at The Plough mid week September and were the only people in the bistro/restaurant. We chose The Plough as it is part of the Jolly Fisherman empire (which is jolly good!), Did not disappoint. Had the best plaice and chips for a long time, with lovely thin crispy batter, and excellent fish, and the steak and ale... More

Rooms clean, food in restaurant good, but staff kept forgetting things. Had to ask for toast three times at breakfast, finally arrived after finished food. Mattress in room two needs replacing, springs broke, spoilt a good nights sleep

Very comfortable and pleasant stay at The Plough Inn, bar was very contemporary and had comfortable seating, service was good and the room had a huge bed. The breakfast menu was very good with a great choice, Eggs Benedict being my favourite and my husband loved the porridge. The toast could have been better if made with a malted bread or... More
