This is our second visit to the Hogs Head and well worth the visit, we were on a winter offer B&B and evening meal for £99. Food was lovely not at all like pub grub, rooms spotless and the staff really friendly. A short walk takes you into Alnwick and there are lots of interesting places to visit. Will be...

We went to lunch here and liked the internal layout and decoration very much. I went towards what I thought was a buffet but it turned out to be for a private party, a notice to this effect it might have helped. A large family were having a special party for their Grandmothers 90th birthday. They were enjoying a good...

This was our second year the family of 14 had Christmas lunch here. This year we went for the second sitting. Service was very quick and staff were very pleasant. The turkey served was good but a few of the party were not aware they could also have beef as the chef only had turkey to cut. Only when a...

We have eaten here on numerous occasions and are impressed because it has a very wide-ranging menu with ample choice for vegetarians. There are 5 or 6 dishes to choose from which in our experience is unusual. It gets very busy but you can usually find a table in the large bar/dining area. Service is friendly and prompt. I have...

Second visit here this month. Food very good quality and value. Large portions and very tasty. Plenty busy enough today, but all staff helpful and didn't feel rushed. Will be visiting again next time we are passing. Thanks.

I stayed here with my boyfriend as his birthday present, sharing a double room. The room was spacious, clean and very nicely decorated. The hotel was warm and friendly and all the staff were very attentive and willing to help us with anything we needed, such as helping us finding a taxi when lots of places would not take us....

The last time we stayed at the Highs Head, we were rather disappointed. Not this time though - our ground floor room was spotlessly clean, bed comfortable and food in the restaurant was excellent - both at dinner and at breakfast next morning. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful, particularly Gary. Recommended !

I stayed here as one of a group of ten people in ten separate rooms. All of the rooms are really nicely decorated and clean. Hotel has plenty of parking, and is located right next to a garage and a MacDonald's. Alnwick is about twenty five minute walk away. Our evening meal was good, with excellent service and a good...

We had friend's xmas party there with the mimic men, dinner bed and breakfast. The mimic men were terrible but the band they had on after was brilliant. The pate was not good and we got a carvery instead of table service. We paid over the odds for bottles of wine when later in the night we found out we...
