Spent a 3 nights here recently and had a really good time. Hotel perfect for visiting Alnwick town , we could walk to the castle, all the shops, restaurants and tourist Info, were close by. Our room had everything we needed, we had the king size bed, bath with shower over. We had plenty of fluffy towels and shower was... More

this is exactly the type of place I like! cozy and quaint, carvery was excellent, three choices of meat and a great selection of fresh vegetables. It was excellent for the price 7.50 for a large carvery, you can't go wrong with that! I like to try different places regularly for Sunday lunch but I would definitely visit again next... More

I can only say I was embarrassed to offer my friends a drink and and something to eat in this town centre pub! Having decided to have dinner in the evening, we went into The Queens Head for a sandwich, it was like a prepare your own.............two slices of bread, from what looked like a budget sliced loaf, cut from... Stopped here for Sunday lunch. Arrived just as it opened. Small and cosy inside, lovely atmosphere. Ordered 2 adults and a children's carvery meal, great price. The food was excellent, the vegetable selection was fantastic. What stood out more so was the customer service. Absolutely second to none, can't do enough for you. Was so impressed by this place I'd... More

on our trip through Uk we tried to mix up our accommodation by including a small country style pub. This pub filled the bill perfectly, the owners were friendly & welcoming. Our room up a fantastic spiral staircase was surprisingly large with modern renovations. Excellent location easy walking to all the attractions of the City. The Parking next to the... More

Happened upon this pub just as they were opening for Sunday lunch. The lunch is served carvery style and was £7.50 for a large plate. 3 meats on offer and a substantial selection of vegetables. Children welcome, with a "regular" plate-sized meal also available. Food was delicious. Would definitely go back if I'm in the area again.

No bad points as the room and service was tip top, very friendly staff. the only fault in the room was that the toilet seat was loose and no shelves in the bathroom and the extractor did not work. but overall we would visit again.

We stayed here for a family wedding in the local area, overall our experience was very good. We checked in and was shown to our room approx 2pm and given details for breakfast. The staff explained that the pub closes around 12am and gave us a key to use the emergency exit door incase we wanted to come back later.... More

We arrived early in the day before the room was ready, so they held our bags in the stairwell behind the bar so we could go out and explore the town/castle before checking in fully. We had booked the Lady Jane Grey room, it was large with a decently comfortable bed and big nice towels, overall a little on the... More
