Lovely place, owner met us when we arrived and showed us everything we needed. Room itself was really nice, comfortable bed and good wifi. Shower room was similarly excellent.
Breakfast isn't provided incase anyone hasn't noticed it.
Everything in very good condition throughout, but fairly narrow stairs up to all three rooms.
Not all en suite.
Very close to Alnwick centre, Castle, Gardens and Station bookshop.
Sadly we were the last people to have breakfast. Rooms only now.
Stayed here for 3 nights. Room was extremely comfortable and clean, well stocked hospitality tray which was replenished every day. On the main road through Alnwick so only a short stroll to pubs, shops, restaurants etc but no noise so we slept well! Breakfast can...More

Have booked a night here for early January, however didn't realise the castle was closed over winter. What else is there to do local in Alnwick?

The Alnwick Gardens is usually open 364 days a year. Only ever closed for Christmas day. However, due to a major refurbishment of the gardens in January this too will be closed for a month. However, you could always go visit Barter Books, one of the largest secondhand book sellers in the UK. There is also miles of unspoilt beaches with some dramatic scenery to be had. January isn't the best time unfortunately due to the lack of opened attractions. But we are seeing lots of walkers this time due to the lovely weather.
