A simply stunning stay! From the moment we arrived, it was clear that our stay was going to be 5*. From the coffee and cake, to amazing room, to mead as a nightcap, I cannot recommend this highly enough. Thank you!!

Our second visit and Steve and Amanda have not in any way let standards slip! Welcome super-friendly: rooms beautiful: facilities excellent: breakfasts amazing - and all with the best of Northumberland on the doorstep! If you are in the area, don't stay anywhere else - but be sure to book very early! Brilliant!

We stayed in the red room for 4 nights as we walked the coast path. Great location as the bus stopped right outside. The room facilities were very good quality, lovely soft white linen on bed with two comfortable armchairs and good choice of hot drinks in room. Guests are welcome to use the garden seating to enjoy glass wine...

This was the cleanest and most comfortable of all the guest houses which we stayed in during our tour of Northhumberland and the Lake district. The home cooked food was exellent and Amanda and Steve are exelent hosts. Ask Amanda for one of her flapjacks they are good.

Ah but you don't need to ask for the flapjacks. They are in all the rooms and topped up each day. Thank you for the review and we hope you will come back to us soon.

Arrived to be greeted by both Amanda, who provided freshly made home baked tea loaf, and Steve who showed us to our room and was a great source of info for local places to visit/eat etc. Both are perfect hosts. We stayed in the 'Blue Room' which is at the front of the house and is spacious and extremely comfortable....

Thank you for such a lovely review. Being able to provide information to our guests helps us make sure they enjoy their stay in North Northumberland and see what the area has to offer. Like yourselves, so many people realise fairly quickly that a return visit is needed for all the places they didn't get to the first time. Our...

Having stayed previously at The Market Cross, we had great expectation on our recent return of the high standards we might experience and, predictably, we were not disappointed. Northumberland is a simply stunning area of the country on so many counts, and so it is only fitting surely that this quality should be reflected in a top class example of...

Thank you so much. It was such a pleasure seeing you both again and knowing we met your expectations once more makes all the difference. Next time you come you will see some more changes as we start another round of refurbishment on some of the bathrooms at the end of the year. We are looking forward to your next...
