Sandra was very welcoming and friendly and was very helpful in recommending places to visit in the area. The hallway is filled with interesting old photos and the room was clean with a beautiful fireplace and the bed very comfortable. As other reviewers have mentioned, the dome is quite an eye-catching feature. The breakfast was very good and filling with...

This was our first visit to Berwick on Tweed and we enjoyed a very pleasant and comfortable two-night stay at The Anchorage. Ian and Sandra are friendly and welcoming hosts; the double room on the second floor was quiet, spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable, and we appreciated the extra touches in the room such as biscuits and bottled water. Ian's...

Excellent accommodation very close to centre of Berwick. Room very comfortable, warm and most importantly, quiet. If you like your ales the Anchorage is 5 minutes walk from The Curfew, a cracking little micropub that's well worth a visit.

My wife & I stayed with Sandra & Ian on Friday night following a dinner event in town. With the sort of welcome we've come to expect from a stay at The Anchorage, we made our way to our room on the top floor up that incredible staircase that exudes elegance and history. A very comfortable & restive night was...

Second time we have stayed at The Anchorage and can't praise Ian & Sandra highly enough, they are always very friendly and welcoming. We stayed in double room which was very spacious and a very comfortable bed. They cannot do enough for you. The breakfast is delicious and hearty, especially the bacon rolls! We also got to meet their 4...

I stayed here for a weekend in October and it was perfect. The room was spacious, with a huge bathroom, fireplace and arm chair. There was free wi-fi and a fabulous breakfast included. It is just a few minutes' walk from the centre of Berwick, and a great base for reaching other nearby gems by car or train. Sandra and...

Like the other reviews we found The Anchorage to be a warm and friendly place to stay. A great choice of things for breakfast and if my scrambled egg and bacon is anything to go by the full works would be terrific. The house is a really interesting Georgian building and our room was warm and inviting. As others have...

I spent 10 days at the Anchorage while working at the Berwick upon Tweed film festival and so got to know the town rather well. I also went into a few other guest houses where my colleagues were staying and can confidently say that the Anchorage is hands down the best to be had here. Sandra and Ian were brilliant...

We were so impressed with the facilities and the friendliness not to say helpfulness of Ian and Sandra. Nothing was too much trouble and they were lovely warm people. There was a larger than usual time frame allocated for breakfast and we found the food plentiful and excellent

We were made very welcome at the Anchorage, where we stayed for three nights during August 2016. The room was a good size and spotlessly clean, and the bed most comfortable and it was very quiet. The building is most attractive and atmospheric. Breakfast was ample and delicious. We appreciated the complimentary water and biscuits and the tea tray in...
