Our room had amazing views across the River Tweed and of the railway bridge which was lit up at night and the old and newer road bridges which this morning had perfect reflections in the river making the views even more amazing!!! Though you are next to the railway bridge offering a great view of the viaduct there is no...

We had a very friendly welcome upon arrival. The additional little touches such as binoculars on the windowsill and books and dvds on the landing and in the room were good. The breakfast was delicious. The guest house is within easy walking distance from the town centre and town walls.

Location Berwick-upon-Tweed is a tiny town just into the English side of the Scottish border and this traditional B&B is right in the middle of it. Or rather to just one side as the car park (and our room) looked out to the stunning Berwick Bridge over the River Tweed. Parking Included on site and it comes with a view....

Stayed here for one night only, but wish it could have been longer. The hosts were so thoughtful and did a super job of making our short stay a nice one. Breakfast was really nice and very filling. Our room was brilliant with views across the river tweed, some reviews have moaned about the railway next to this location, but...

We booked at Castle Vale House for two nights. Our initial welcome was extremely friendly and our large room overlooking the River Tweed and Border Bridge had a lovely view on two sides. The house from the Victorian era is very comfortable and makes a pleasant change from modern standard hotel rooms. Breakfast was prepared to order and served in...

We booked this place last minute to break up our journey home. This is a lovely old house and our room was large with a view of the river and the viaduct. The bed was big and very comfortable, the room very clean as was the shower room, only slight gripe was the towels were the smallest we had on...

This is a brilliant old victorian building overlooking the river tweed and is full of quirks and character and I would fully recommend staying, as it is so peaceful. the location is perfectly positioned for heading into Berwick in the evening as it is about a ten minute walk into town. You are made to feel that it is a...

I must admit I was a little nervous after some of the more recent reviews but can genuinely say this was a lovely, welcoming place to stay. Nothing is too much for the hosts. The quirky homely Victorian style with the knick-knacks grew on me - not sure I'd want to dust them all! All in all, I would stay...

As title but breakfast not as good as Castle Vale promo info or previous guest reviews suggest. No noise from railway and very handy to walk into town to see the walls and other historical interests Berwick Upon Tweed offers. Room 5 very cosy with good shower and views of river and viaduct.

The hosts at Castle Vale House made you feel very welcome. The early Victorian house is furnished in the period, yet provides all the usual comforts in the room. Great room overlooking the river, with large bathroom and shower. Breakfast quality was excellent, served in the period dining room, overlooking the magnificent structure of the famous railway viaduct over the...
