I stayed here with my partner for a romantic Valentine's break. We arrived to a warm welcome by the owner and were taken to our room by a very helpful member of staff who lit the fire for us before making sure we had everything we needed. The room was just wonderful with high quality furnishings, towels and toiletries. This...

Great to have you boys visit, my first civil couple visitors if you know what I mean. You were great fun and a breath of french air compared to some visitors. Thank you for coming.

Stayed at the end of Jan for a romantic break for my wife's birthday. Really impressed with the room (Tiffany) which had lots of nice touches. We had taken a DBB option and were a little disappointed with the meal and associated service. The young lad didn't appear knowledgeable about the food or drinks available in the bar. My main...

My partner and I visit Sallyport very often while in Berwick-upon-Tweed and it's a wonderful, warm, comfortable place to be. Can highly recommend the fruit scones! We have a large (well-behaved!) dog and it's great to be able to stay in a pet-friendly place which is also of such a high quality and cleanliness. Sallyport's also the only place we...

Sir Lancelot and your pup got on like a house on fire - it was a hoot watching them jolly around the kitchen! Thanks for visiting us and I look forward to your next visit to Berwick... or perhaps it's my turn to come to you!

The friendly staff and amazing bathrooms stand out at this pleasant inn. You feel welcomed and comfortable as soon as you walk through the door. The rooms are beautifully appointed. The shower with jacuzzi is luxuriant. Breakfast was a standout. Supper was not quite as good, but still tasty. A real treat.

Had a fantastic stay in this charming & cosy hotel. Staff were lovely and very helpful, if preoccupied with the opening of new wing that coincided with our stay over Valentine's Day weekend in 2009. Mulberry Suite - spacious and comfortable with a fabulous bath, we couldn't fill it though as the plug kept popping out. Delicious breakfasts by the...

We stayed at No. 1 Sallyport over new year and were absolutely delighted with everything about the place. It's a plush haven where you're pampered within an inch of your life (I don't think I was anything other than absolutely stuffed for the whole of our three day stay.) Decor-wise the hotel is brilliant, managing to be at once chic...

We'd wanted to stay there for some time after reading early media reviews but were thoroughly disappointed. Our room (The Lowry) was comfortable enough but from the moment we arrived we felt the place was lacking hospitality. Shown around by a young member of staff, we were pleased to be offered a lounge area with open fire which looked most...

This was a long time ago so I struggle to remember the details of your stay but I do sometimes need to make a call to the bank, the police, my solicitor... we all have private lives and unfortunately mine is often surrounded by guests. Please come back soon and I will happily make amends with one of my famous...

from the moment we entered this listed building everything was just excellent The new bar and small restaurant festively decorated and a warm welcome from the owner Elizabeth. Having checked in the fire in our lovely room was lit, and on a very cold winter's day was so much appreciated. The Tiffany bedroom was just as in the photograph, elegant...

Having read the varying reviews on this place I must admit that we didn't quite know what to expect, but we needn't have worried. The room we had was really a suite (Smugglers), and contained everything we need and more. The downstairs restaurant was small and intimate, and the food was exceptional. All staff we encountered were extremely courteous and...

We stayed at 1 Sallyport for our wedding anniversary on a miserable November day. Couldn't fault the hotel; there was a warm welcome and a lovely room (Madison), with a very comfortable sitting area. The food was delicious at both dinner and breakfast and we found all the staff charming, including the owner. Don't understand the negative reviews on this...
