At this price point I think this hotel is about right. The staff are excellent, the ground floor is exactly what you would hope for, and the restaurant is well worth a visit. The downside is that the sleeping areas are extremely tired. I realise that an ancient building will always struggle to meet modern expectations with lay-outs / fire...

Lovely hotel we stayed for a weekend. Comfy 4 poster bed good breakfast. Staff very helpful & friendly. Place needs some decorative improvement but that's all. Sort of shabby chic. Room was clean and good quality towels/bedding

2nd stay at this hotel, love it, has comfy rooms and good reasonable food, this time we were in the bridal suite such a lovely room. Will definitely go back, the staff are so helpful especially the lovely polish lady (I think) who is so professional and ensures you get a good breakfast, can't thank her enough. Both times she...

Our room was very small, something out of the 70's, especially the dated wallpaper. The T.V. had an intermittent signal, disappointing during the Olympics. The upholstery was torn and a hole in the bed sheet. On day two ( a wedding to attend) we could not have a shower no water, when we called assistance you have to turn ALL...

My partner and I visited Morpeth for a day out on Monday 15th August 2016. After looking around the shops and taking in a riverside walk which included Carlisle Park, we decided to have some lunch. We decided to go to the Waterford Lodge as I had been there before for a drink and it looked quite nice. On entering...

We recently stayed in the family room and it was very comfortable and the room was very clean. I thought breakfast was a bit early for me but it was a lovely breakfast and the staff looked after us very well. Very close to the shops and amenities of Morpeth. I didn't eat in the restaurant downstairs so I couldn't...

Stayed with friends for a family birthday,we took up 4 rooms everyone had an issue. Hot water flow to bathrooms varied from none to a trickle, poor dated showers, bath and bedroom fittings. Damp in rooms causes wall and ceiling paper to peel. Avoid room 18 if offered as it must be the coldest dampest room in the hotel, even the pictures...

We enjoyed our few nights stay. The bedroom was comfortable, spacious and importantly very quiet at night for sleeping. The hotel facade is distinctive, being quite long resulting from combining a number of former individual premises. This has the effect of areas of the first floor being at slightly different levels which is well signalled with signs about minding the...

There was no wifi in our room, but they already knew about this and had already scheduled someone to fix it. The hot water was also a problem, as it did not work reliably - it took about half an hour to shift a cold patch of water each time we used it. The layout of the family room made...
