Went for a meal whilst staying in the nearby falstone barns in falstone.. the food was great, staff were friendly and helpful and the decor was just as expected, fire burning, loads of interesting trinkets on the walls, a nice warming atmosphere. Definitely worth a stop if you're up near Kielder!

Stayed here recently whilst visiting the observatory and the welcome was great. The rooms were well appointed, and more importantly, extremely well maintained and cleaned. The pub is lovely.. a wonderful fire, enjoyable ales, great breakfast and equally enjoyable dinner. We were welcome right from the start both by the staff and fellow guests and had a lovely long weekend...

Over the years we have enjoyed many meals at The Pheasant, even going back to the days when Walter ran the place - it is a convenient and convivial place to meet our son who lives in Edinburgh. This is the epitome of a country pub - pleasant lounge bars, a roaring fire in winter, gleaming brasses, a great range...

Just came came back from a 5 night break in falstone and visited the pheasant Inn on 2 occasions for dinner and 1 occasion to partake of their range of malt whiskies. The food was fabulous, wanted to try 2 different meals but the Northumberland lamb was sooo good, I ordered it on the two occasions! Soup starters were very...

We stayed here for 2 nights in early December when visiting the Kielder Observatory. Our room was a converted cowshed, beautifully furnished, immaculately clean and with a bed more comfortable than ours at home. The large bathroom had a shower with plenty of hot water. We had dinner at the inn on both nights, the food was perfectly cooked and...

We were renting a cottage nearby and booked Sunday lunch here. The menu has a good selection of meat and fish. We had lamb roast and a game pie. The food was really really good. It's all pretty traditional and plain-this isn't a criticism at all. The veg wasn't over cooked. The lamb was so moist and tasty. Puddings included...

Superb find on way to Jedburgh....... Cask Ale perfect. Food uncomplicated, local, fresh, say no more..... a kitchen not run around a deep fat fryer and a microwave! Sweets.... Well I had the bread and butter pudding. Best I've ever had!!! My only minor grumble would be the lack of back ground music although this may take away the one thing...

Thank you for leaving us your review. So pleased you found us just passing through. There was a time when we could not sell bread and butter pudding to anyone and know its a permanent fixture on the dessert board. We do have a background music system but perhaps someone just forgot to put it on. I hope you will...

This is a very late review of a two night stay back in August but I'm catching up now. Better late than never though eh? We were into the second week of a two week motorcycling holiday covering the Scottish borders, Northumberland and Wales and planned this stop well in advance using TripAdvisor reviews to make our accommodation selection. We...

Thank you for leaving us your review. as always great to get positive feedback. We are a country pub and try as hard as we may we are not perfect so the odd plumbing issue can be dealt with from time to time. I like to think our menu is quite straight forward just well executed, yes if your children...

My husband and I chose to stay at 'The Pheasant' whilst visiting the Kielder Observatory'. What a find, we couldn't praise the place more highly. Our room just off the courtyard was perfect, very clean and bathroom very spacious. The staff were very friendly and the meals superb. The only blight on our trip was that it was very cloudy...
