My husband and I spent 3 nights at the Hemmel Bed & Breakfast. It was an absolutely delightful stay. Jack and Sue are adorable and very meticulous. Breakfast was made to order and they insisted on meeting our every need. The Hemmel is a suitable for just about any traveller however it is quiet and kind of mellow. The rooms... More

Having never visited this part of Northumberland we spent 3 nights here mid-August.The property is located in countryside just out of Wooler. Our room was very good with spacious bathroom. This is an area of outstanding countryside an a visit to the valley of River Breamish is ideal for walking. Ford & Etal are well worth a visit but not on... More

Located within walking distance of several routes in Northumberland National Park, this Bed and Breakfast was simply perfect for us, due to the quality of accommodation and the superb hospitality. The building used to be part of a farm and has been renovated. The location is a very open lansdcape, providing a feeling of the countryside, without staying away from... More

Only stayed the one night and we couldnt have wished for a warmer welcome. My daughter and I were in the family room which was spacious, clean, comfortable and light. Lovely little touches like proper mugs for tea and coffee in the room. Plenty of choice for breakfast and served with a smile. The bed was comfortable and the place... More

Just to say what fantastic accommodation and fantastic hosts. We organised a retreat to The Hemmel and the service and hospitality could not have been better. This is a great find! Hotel standard accommodation with brilliant attention to detail. Cosy rooms in a self-contained wing of this barn conversion; excellent breakfasts and superbly positioned for exploring this part of Northumberland. Highly recommended.

The hemmel is the most peaceful, relaxing place. The room was so beautiful, so lovely and welcoming, they just thought of every little detail. Everything was so clean, the room absolutely shined! The bed was very comfortable, there were flowers and little decorations everywhere, the bath was large and warm... everything was in such a good taste. The living room... More

We really enjoyed a relaxing few days at The Hemmel. You need a car as it's a little way out of Wooler - in a lovely setting surrounded by fields. The room was spacious and the bathroom was large with a separate bath and shower. The website seems to indicate there's a living room but this didn't appear to be... More

A great place to explore northumberland from. The owners were very helpful and even lent us a hat as my wife had forgotten hers. The room was very clean, well presented and had everything we needed (including 2 chocolate biscuits!). A good selection for breakfast made with quality products. Overall a very plesent stay.
