This BnB is not fancy nor cater to those wishing for a "romantic" getaway and the likes. It just basic, clean & comfy - a home to sleep in, have a shower & get good breakfast and then you're off on to your day... Once in a while you can sit in their picturesque backyard and relax with a book...

I made a brief stop in Abingdon, Oxon to visit some relatives last week. I needed a nice accomodation without paying out a fortune. I found Rowen Guest House on Oxford Road and tried to book online. It seems there was a problem with this so I wrote directly to them explaining the situation. Dorys, came backin no time with...

Had just come out of London, needed peace and quiet. Found it at Rowen Guest House. Could not have asked for any better hosts. I echo the other reviewers comments: friendly, warm, knowledgeable, accommodating. Lovely continental, full English or a few personal choice breakfasts offered. The shower could have had a bit more energy, but other than that the shared...

We're from overseas and needed a place to stay for my partner's new job in one of the science parks nearby. Our flat took a while to become vacant so we stayed for about 4 weeks all up. It was clean and friendly. We had lots of questions about the area and getting work. We were given advice about setting...

I was assigned for a week working at Business park in Abingdon last month. It was not easy to find a decent B&B with company's allowance until I heard from my colleague suggest me to call this place. It's quick, hassle free when making a reservation. I found out later that I was lucky to have the room for my...

I have stayed at this B&B several times on trips to Oxford and cannot fault it. It is run by a really friendly couple who go out of their way for you and make you feel really welcome. The price is reasonable too - just £40 a night for a single. There is ample parking and it is bang opposite...

Location wise, Rowen Guest House has the best. It is in the main road and driving from Oxford without GPS to find it, was no sweat at all. It has also generous parking lot in front yard. The overall property condition is superb, cosy & clean. The husband-wife host-owner is friendly and accommodating. One thing that we regret, at that...

I stayed for several nights here at reasonable rate for their rooms with breakfast included. The room is small but cosy enough and clean, and the host was welcoming and helpful to point out local restaurants and their locations as the guest house is very close to town. Definitely will come and stay again.

The buiding and rooms are pleasant enough. The sound-proofing is pretty good. My room overlooked a busy road and I wasn't disturbed by road noise. The problems emerged quite soon though. My pillowcase was filthy - grey round the edges - and I had to ask for a clean one. My duvet cover had a small yellow stain on it...

The Rowen Guest House is seemingly 1970s house, perhaps three quarters of a mile from the centre of Abingdon. The welcome was perhaps a touch weak, just being asked to register and then shown to our double room. The room was equipped with the usual things - TV, tea and coffee making facilities, ensuite shower, and the bed seemed larger...

“If you prefer a real "European" quiet room, please ask a room facing back yard. Since I'm an Asian and live in hectic noisy city, for me Rowen neighborhood is too quiet & serene.”
