I chose The Cosener's House last minute since I was invited to go to Oxford by a friend of mine and his hotel was fully booked . It was a good option , the place is quiet and surrounded by river Thames , boats, ducks...More
Have dined there on many occasions and the food and service is outstanding. It's an old building, well maintained and fitted out for conferences and meetings, set in peaceful grounds on the banks of the Thames. There are many bedrooms, but I haven't stayed in...More
This is a difficult place to rate!
I’ll start with the positives:
Great location - right on the Thames with very pleasant lawned gardens
Waitress and housekeeping staff (generally) very good
Reasonable room prices
Food was good
Unfortunately there are a number of negatives:

Lovely location but very basic rooms . Nice staff but room not worth the cost.
Won’t stay there again as not good value for money

I do not recall there being a pool but it does have nice gardens and is right on the Thames.
There is a little lido a short walk from the hotel on the green in front of the river, but I think this may be more for children
