This country inn with rooms was quiet and attractive. The rooms were clean and modern. The staff were helpful and attentive. The food, although quite expensive, was excellent. We. Stayed after visiting a National Trust property, and I would recommend an overnight stay with dinner.

We stayed one night at the "Star Inn" and "Star Barn - Accommodation" in this beautifully presented country inn just down the road from Wantage in Oxfordshire. We were greeted upon arrival by two lovely ladies who were serving behind the bar, in the restaurant and also doubling up as hotel concierge. One slight hiccup with our booking on arrival,... More

This was our second visit to this tastefully appointed pub restaurant for an evening meal. First impressions were maintained : tasteful simple decor and a pleasant atmosphere. Our party of five ordered a variety of dishes including steaks on the specials , Dover sole from the chalkboard menu and pork belly . All were very good and there is plenty... More

While food in the restaurant was good the b&b experience less so. A courtesy tray with nothing to nibble on after a hard day's walking....I did ask but, 'no we don't have biscuits'. Breakfast very meagre compared with others along the Ridgeway - a plate of fruit an alternative to a cooked breakfast - it should be as well as!

Found this pretty & traditional inn, pretty much by accident - with only 6 rooms in a cottage adjacent to the restaurant & bar. Friendly and welcoming staff, and while our room was not huge it was well appointed. Lovely gardens and family friendly it is difficult to fault it.

We stayed here on a Sunday night of a Bank Holiday weekend. The inn is set within a lovely small village in the Oxfordshire countryside and offers quality accommodation in a converted barn. I can thoroughly recommend Room 6 which is slightly larger than the others, has some lovely features like wooden beams and an excellent shower. The included breakfast... More

All of my rooms are booked by my employer, and my heart usually sinks when I see the word "inn". This often means a pub with rooms to rent and lack lustre food. However, The Star Inn is a real treat! As an engineer who is permanently on the move, a great place to stay overnight makes a huge difference... More
