We have been staying at Hopton House at different times of the year since 2011 and have recently returned home from our fifth visit, reluctantly I might add. It really is the most beautiful place, set in the heart of the south Shropshire hills. The nearest pub,the Baron at Bucknell, is about 3 miles away, and serves very good pub...

Our second stay at Hopton House, and once again a wonderful break. Karen is a charming host and she really has thought of everything. Our room was very comfortable, with stunning views across the fields to the hills. Karen's fabulous breakfasts are the tastiest and most interesting we have encountered at any B&B or hotel.

This is by far the most wonderful, relaxing and naturally beautiful place that we've stayed in the UK. Not only that, but our Hopton House room (The Granary) was luxurious and delivered so much more than just a place to lay our heads. It was spacious, spotless and beyond both our expectations. The beautifully furnished, room came with a wonderful...

Had 4 nights staying at Hopton House and found it the best B & B we've ever stayed in. Karen is a wonderful lady and runs a superb establishment. Our Old English Sheepdog found new friends in Mitzi & Murphy, and we loved to see the hens roaming about the wildflower garden. Breakfast was excellent & to sit looking out...

Hello Colin Many thanks for taking time to write all of your lovely reviews. I really do appreciate it, as I know it all takes up time. It was a pleasure to welcome all of you to Hopton House. Mitsi and Murphy are particularly missing their new friend. I hope we'll see you all again very soon. Karen

I told Karen, the owner, I would not give her B&B a good rating because that way it wouldn't be fully booked whenever I wanted to come back. The simple fact is though that this was our best ever experience of such a place. We had the barn room, a barn conversion completed 8 years ago that was separate to...

Hi Mark I am so very glad that you decide to give me a good review after all. It was a pleasure to welcome you both and your very lovely dog. The dog friendly room is always very popular but hopefully we'll be able to squeeze you again! Karen p.s. thank you for not actually holding a barn dance in...

Let me list the positives - the location, the room (The Barn Room), the owner Karen and her two friendly dogs -Murphy and Mitzi, the attention to detail, the breakfasts and the breakfast room, the chickens roaming around the garden (and their eggs!), the view, the home baking (fantastic bread, lemon drizzle cake and blueberry scones), the bird feeders, the...

From arrival to departure an excellent stay with our 2 dogs in the Barn Room. Breakfast of excellent quality, accommodation had everything you could need with an excellent supply of extras and the location was excellent for visiting Ludlow. Overall would have no hesitation in recommending and would definitely stay again.

We have travelled widely in the UK and elsewhere over the past 50 years and have only revisited 2 places - this is one. Karen (together with Rob, dogs and chickens) has created a unique accommodation. Many of the touches and quality hospitality items are up with the very best boutique hotels. Breakfast is not only a wondeful selection of...

I have reviewed this place before saying how great it is. So this time I want to focus on a few of the little things that make it truly superb. Like the luxury toiletries supplied in big bottles and topped up each day. Like the freshly baked goods, homemade muesli, and fruits supplied on the breakfast buffet table. Like the...
