Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
The Premier Inn Oswestry hotel garners mixed reviews for value, with guests appreciating the meal deals but some finding the breakfast lacking. Its amenities are largely seen as satisfactory, offering clean and comfortable rooms. The hotel's cleanliness receives high marks, often being described as spotless. While the staff is frequently commended for their friendliness, there are occasional service hiccups, particularly in the restaurant.
The location is deemed convenient for travel, though not ideal for those wishing to explore the town without a car. Rooms are generally praised for cleanliness, but noise and water temperature inconsistencies are noted. The atmosphere is a point of contention, with opinions ranging from welcoming to the disturbance caused by a loud speaker in the morning.

Detailed Reviews
Traveling from West Wales to Yorkshire wanted somewhere to stay overnight to break the journey up so we booked Premier Inn at Oswestry online
It was after 10 pm we checked in and was greeted by a lovely lady behind the reception desk who was very polite , welcoming and had plenty of time to make sure we we were going to have a nice stay
We were on the ground floor, lovely clean room , spotless infact , super comfy bed , only problem was because we were the furthest room down the corridor that we couldn't connect to the free Wi-Fi, which wasn't a big issue for us
Breakfast was served in the adjacent restaurant and again greeted by lovely pleasant staff who took our room number and showed us where to sit and where everything was
Great choice of high quality food available , I went for the poached egg on toast with mushrooms and beans which was spot on, my wife who opted for the continental option was spoilt for choice .
Staff were always available if needed and it was so nice throughout our short stay that all staff seemed happy which is unlike other places where it seems they are there for themselves and not to have a happy helpful manner towards guests .A very happy comfortable and relaxing stay with clean rooms , happy helpful staff , will definitely use again 👍

My wife and I stayed in this Premier Inn for two nights over Christmas in order to spend the ‘Big Day’ with family living locally. It is the first time we’ve stayed at this location, and the first time we’ve booked an accessible room. There was a pleasant surprise when we checked in – not a check-in machine is sight, just friendly welcoming staff: how lovely! The accessible room was spacious, as you would expect (for wheelchairs and, in my case, a rollator) as was the bathroom. The room seemed very sparsely furnished, but I guess that was due to its size compared with a standard room: but it had everything we needed, and the bed was, as always, very comfortable. The bathroom was well designed: I think Premier Inn have really cracked bathroom design. It was my first encounter with a ‘lowered bath’ – this was exactly as stated. I found it easy enough to haul myself in, the shower was very easy to use, but I wasn’t so confident with hauling myself out of the bath. It would have benefitted from another grab-handle on the right hand side as you face the bath. However, the room suited our needs perfectly.
On the first night we were joined by two family members for dinner in the restaurant (Thyme). There was a reasonable choice of menu items at reasonable prices – but it is more of a pub menu than a restaurant menu. The food was well prepared and presented, and tasty. The service was excellent. The only downside was having to walk a few metres outside in the rain to get to and from the restaurant – hopefully the refurbishment currently underway will link the restaurant directly into the hotel.
On our departure morning we were joined by another family member for breakfast. This was a very different story from our dinner! We chose for the cooked option: the continental is very poor value for money, unless you put volume over quality and choice – add some meat and cheese to the options and I’m in. The cooked breakfast was served rather than help yourself buffet, so, I thought, it will be freshly cooked. In fact it turned out to be the worst breakfast we have ever had in any hotel anywhere. We each ordered slight variations on the ‘full’ English. When it arrived no one plate was as ordered. However, we were able to sort that out between us. But the food – oh dear! The bacon was so crisp as to be inedible and the pieces were soundly stuck together, the sausages were cremated, the hash browns had been hanging around a while, and the fried egg was not fully cooked. Had the chef ever cooked a breakfast before? Fortunately we had toast to fill us up and at least the coffee was drinkable. We did complain on site about the breakfast and the complaint was resolved to our satisfaction. But do watch out!
In conclusion would we stay here again? Indeed we would, Premier Inn rooms suit us perfectly for short breaks, but we would avoid meals until the restaurant (and the chef in this case) is sorted. There are plenty of places to eat in Oswestry and nearby.

The reception and housekeeping team were some of the friendliest and most helpful staff whilst maintainting their professionalism. The room was very clean, the bed very comfortable and there was a flat pillow available for my use. The whole team appeared to be happy and the housekeeper sang as she was cleaning the bedrooms. It made me smile. If I visit family again in Oswestry I would book the Premier Inn again.

Travel cot was provided with a towel and a loose fitting bedsheet folded multiple times! Raised to reception and apparently this is the standard. Very unsafe given the high risk of suffocation and overheating.
Definitely do not recommend for any families with young children

As a matron I spend many nights in Premier Inns, sometimes 3/4 a week.
The premier inn at Oswestry is one of the friendliest, most accommodating premier inns I’ve stayed in. Nothing is too much trouble from reception to evening meals. The rooms are always clean and well maintained. The reception staff, apologies I have no names are polite, professional and can’t do enough for you.
The restaurant is welcoming and the team, John, James and Leah are a credit to the company. They are an amazing team and as a single person travelling make you feel relaxed and comfortable. The food also was fabulous, as ordered and a credit to the chef.
Overall this premier inn surpasses a lot I have stayed in. Please feed my review to the team at Oswestry.

Room was basic but good for a family of four. Both shower and bath in the room. Wifi wouldn’t connect at all despite numerous attempts.
Staff on reception were very welcoming.
Breakfast was absolutely shocking. We ordered our items and then when it was brought out the food was all wrong. We said it wasn’t ours as none of the items bought out matched what we had ordered. The food was then returned with the exact same items on it and therefore still wrong and we realised what had happened. The items were all on the wrong plates. We had seen the person who wrote our order down did it correctly so it was obviously the kitchen staff who got this wrong. The staff who bought the food out then gave us dodgy looks for the rest of the time we were there despite it being their error. It felt like they thought we were being awkward when we were anything but. Would have been really dangerous if any of us had any allergies. To say it was an all you can eat / bottomless breakfast. We couldn’t order any more. Staff weren’t available to ask for anything else. So we ended up with the most basic of breakfast items. The black pudding was like rubber. The hash browns were like eating a rock. The bacon was overcooked and dry. The continental breakfast items ran out and took an age to be replaced. There was one coffee machine so the queue for it was long. Seriously underwhelmed and soured the whole visit.

Lovely and clean hotel. We stayed here for our son to compete in a cycling event at Llandegla. The staff couldn’t do enough to accommodate us and our two children (one of which needed some medicine to be stored in a fridge). Although we were advised of staff shortages (in suggesting to book) at the restaurant, you would never have said as they were exceptionally hospitable and supported us with our fussy little eater; again a clean venue with plenty of food choices to suit everyone’s needs. As always, a comfortable stay. Would highly recommend.

Room 211 smells of smoke and the aircon dose not work.
There are number 5 stickers all over the doors in the hotel, when I asked why I was told that the manager thinks if people keep seeing the number 5 everywhere then he will get a 5 star review.
I don’t normally give reviews but because he is begging for them your do feel pressured to leave one and trying to make people give a 5 star here is my review and it’s a 1 star sorry to say.
I stay in a lot of Premier Inns each week for my business and this is not one of the nice ones.
I don’t do breakfast but I like a coffee so go over to the restaurant to buy a coffee to be told sorry you can not just buy a coffee you have to buy a full breakfast.
As I say not one of the nice hotels from this group.

A slightly below average Premier Inn experience, unfortunately. I stayed at Oswestry, on a Saturday night, at a cost of £71.50. The room was clean and the hotel was quiet and I slept well. Sadly the shower in room 212 is faulty - having set the required temperature the water went from full cold to full hot, in cycles. A shower was possible but I had to keep moving out of the shower stream to avoid being scalded. This was the case when showering before bed at midnight and again the next morning at 8am. I mentioned the issue on checking out, and received generic regrets.
