We went for a four day break and the hotel was in the same guide book as one we use regularly in Scotland. We were not disappointed. The hotel is a small country house hotel about 4 miles outside Oswestry just 40 yards from the Welsh Border. Lovely fires in the two lounges, lovely food, lovely and helpful staff and...

The hotel is tucked away on the England Wales border and offers lovely countryside views. The room I was in was double aspect and looked up and across the valley. The welcome was warm and friendly and the property has lots of character. Breakfast was excellent although we didn't have dinner there. I will be visiting again.

I chose this hotel because they accept dogs..... and I was not disappointed. We had a lovely Coach House room with views over the valley. The small patio had a fence to keep the dogs from straying and was ideal. The room was large and comfortably furnished with a bathroom that had lashings of very hot water at good pressure....

We stayed last week for three nights and enjoyed every minute from the moment we arrived at the lovely hotel set in a beautiful location to our reluctant farewell. Our rooms were in the Coach House furnished with every amenity on offer and wonderful views across the valley. Particular reference must be made to the amazing food starting with the...

This is a lovely place to stay for a long or short break, or just for a meal. It's a short drive from Oswestry, or half a day's walk on footpaths through Candy Wood. If you're staying the night and arrive before 5:00 you get complimentary tea and delicious scones by the log fire. Some of the rooms are in...

Great New Year celebrations again at Pen-y-Dyffryn - we have been to this event for the last eleven years and find it unbeatable. To us New Year always seemed a disappointment after the Christmas mayhem until we found this hotel with its comfortable and seemingly effortless hospitality. Beautifully situated and with much local scenery to be enjoyed from the very...

I selected this small, characterful country house hotel as a surprise destination for my husband's birthday. He loves hill-walking - which can be done from the door - and and we both value comfort, peace and quiet, and good food. The family-run hotel is nestled into the hillside, overlooking a small valley marking the boundary (frontier!) between England and Wales....
