we had an early evening meal here on a Sunday. It was quiet (not unexpected really on a damp Sunday in February) but there was a full menu available and the food was really good. The calamari served for starter were HUGE and really nicely cooked, not rubbery at all. Surf and Turf for main was nice and although between...

We visited Porlock for the 2nd time and were not dissapointed. Leanne and Ben are marvelous hosts and nothing is too much trouble for them, from offering to get our bags from the car to giving us 2 complementary glasses to take home. The room was lovely, everything we needed and spotless. Breakfast was super yummy and loads of it....

We came here for lunch, really hungry. It was quiet, just a few people around. Service was slow, and the food wasn't worth waiting for. There weren't any healthy options on the menu. We were horrified to be served horrid processed white bread, with no other option. The location in the centre of beautiful Porlock should be great for attracting...

We visited the castle after being unable to get food at previous restaurant and had a good experience when previously visiting the castle. We only came in for fish and chips and were not disappointed. The portion sizes were generous and the fish took up the while width of the plate. A good selection of drinks and they serve old...

There is a plaque on the wall that says 1891, there are pictures of the hotel inside that shows what the place looked like many years ago. It is one of those rare places that is really family run, and I felt that they really cared that I had a good time. The breakfasts are awesome, in three days I...

We tried to visit here last Christmas however it was closed due to being sold. Luckily, the new owners were open for our visit this year. When we entered the building, we were greeted with a friendly welcome that wasn't over the top or false. We were shown to our table and asked if it was okay, if not, they...
