Unfortunately we were staying at mariners lodge just for one night. What a lovely welcome from caroline and her husband. With cookies, homemade cake and tea we felt like at home. A wonderfull walk at the beach, beautiful view from our room all over the coast and a very comfortable living room are reason for highly recommending this place. On... More

Great place, breakfast was delish and the home made bread. We would travel 100 miles just for the bread let alone the comfy beds, warm welcome, the host is so helpful with our sightseeing and walking tours. Amazing views from the bedroom and lounge.

I was in the West Country visiting family when my wife sprung a surprise stay at the Mariners Lodge for the night as well. We arrived and were met by Caroline who is exuberant, friendly and full of enthusiasm for making her guests both welcome and comfortable. After we put our bags in the room, which has a great view... Top marks for this B&B, lovely situated, seaside views, clean spacious rooms, excellent service. We had a stay here while walking the South West Coast Path and were amazed by the amazing sea views and above all the great service provided by the host, thanks Caroline, we'll be back!

We've just had a wonderful three night stay at Mariners Lodge. Caroline is a very friendly and natural hostess, who manages to run a very professional ship while making you feel very much at home. Use of the sitting room in which an open fire was made up for us each evening was the crowning touch. Highly recommended.

Last stayed in August 2012, and my review still stands - excellent. One word of warning - eat Caroline meals at your peril if you want to walk up any hills the next day. They are simply excellent. Caroline treats everybody as long-lost friends and we felt instantly welcome. Many thanks,we will hapilly return.

If you stay nowhere else then you must stay here. How many places can you walk in the front door for the first time and feel that you have been friends for life. To stumble across such a place was a delight. And the breakfast .... wow !
